I bought a 2002 Sonata, and paid cash for it. It was a beautiful car, as good looking on the inside as on the outside. I loved that car. It ran so quietly, you hardly knew if the ignition was switched on, There was plenty of trunk space for it to have been a mid sized car. I go excellent gas mileage as well. After about 6 months, the check engine light came on, I had the car checked by several places, they could find nothing wrong, and would reset the light, but it always came back on before I even got it home. I couldn't get it inspected because of that, but still had to drive it to get to work. About 6 months after that, it started missing really bad, and it happened to be a couple of sensors that had gone bad, was goin to cost me well over a thousand dollars to fix, and I had alread... Story
It was so fun just to ride around in and sight see, because it is one of the smoothest cars I have ever been inside of!
Pros
The looks, interior, plenty of trunk space, quiet running,
Cons
Sensors keep going out, check engine light keeps coming on

I bought this car with 170,000 miles on it. I have put almost 80,000 miles on it in the almost four years of owning it. It has suited our family well. It has enough space for our family. It has only had a few mechanical problems, but that is to be expected with a car that is 15 years old and a quarter of a million miles. I plan to buy another Hyundai vehicle when I need to replace this one. But would upgrade to an SUV since my family is growing.
Story
We have taken our kids out of town to the Tulsa zoo, and after a hot day walking around the zoo, it was nice to get back into the car, turn on the nice cold air conditioner and play car games on the way home until all the kids fell asleep.
Pros
The gas mileage is awesome. Which helps immensely with road trips with our family. The trunk is pretty large which is helpful for large grocery or gift shopping trips. It has a nice powerful engine but not a loud engine. We were able to fit three children/baby car seats in the back when we needed them.
Cons
It has began to rattle a little. Recently, the motor on the passenger side window has gone out and has to be replaced. The gas door lock has stopped working and it no longer latches. It has a slight oil leak but not really noticeable.
