I got my car about two years ago. It was my first car, and since I was moving out, I needed a car right away. I bought it cash from an Auto Nation, and even though it has cosmetic hail damage, it was strong and exactly what I needed. It runs very smoothly, it is great on gas, and I like the look of it. It has nice little features like the light up mirror, sunglasses case, multiple places to charge your phone and the rear window opens up separate from the main trunk. It has front-wheel drive, though I would prefer four-wheel or all-wheel drive given the climate I live in. It is a dark blue color, so I nicknamed it “Beast” after a superhero. I feel really connected to this car since it is my first car, and I depend on it for everything. It has given me a sense of freedom and adulthood. I... (more)
Story
I had just got my car about two weeks ago, and I was walking back from the grocery store. I was only a mile from my house, and I turned on my car, but the car didn't start. I panicked! I called my brother; he tried to talk me through. I was ready to call a tow truck. But then I heard this little clicking sound, and it turns out, there a hidden alarm I had unknowingly set off. I had to take it ... (more)
Pros
It gets me where I need to go. It has a good engine, and it always comes through. I like the how much space it has, fits five people comfortably, and there is a lot of trunk space.
Cons
I hate how I it always fall into some point of disrepair. Also, I wish it had an auxiliary cable.

We originally got the car for my wife. We looked together and decided on it together, but the car was for her and she chose it. She drove it as her main car, and I drove it sometimes like on vacations, short trips and weekends until 2017. In 2017 we got another new 2017 Tucson. My wife loves the car and wanted another newer one so now I drive the '05 most the time now. My wife has a strong emotional attachment to the car, she even named it Honey Day. We have had few problems with it and it has been a great car.
Story
When we first got the car, my wife's brother said we should have gotten the v-6 model. He said now your going to have to push it up the hills! My aging mother in law heard this and took it seriously. So on the ride home with her, I stopped the car on the shoulder of the road and told my wife she has to get out and push. She got out and acted like she was pushing it while my mother in law sat t... Pros
It is dependable and has plenty of room in it for our needs. It has enough power to go up the steep mountain grades at regular speed even though it only has the 4 cylinder engine. Overall quality is good and it has held up over time. We bought another one of the exact same model just newer so that says something good about it there.
Cons
Gas mileage is not as expected from the time we got it. It gets 28 MPG no matter how it's driven. In the city or on the highway, it gets 28 that's it. I had an expensive repair on it just one time.
