I've had this vehicle for almost 8 years and it's been great! It's very dependable. I took it across the country with zero problems.

Hyundai - not as inexpensive as you think
I bought my Hyundai as a used car. It passed carfax but within the first year of owning it I have already spent over half as much in repairs as I did on the purchase price. The car is adorable. I love the look of it, and it is the perfect size for all of the road trips that me and my family make. When I chose it, it was because it received good reviews and I have 2 teens that will be needing to learn to drive soon. I wanted a solid car that they will feel safe learning in and that would keep them safe if they happen to get into a fender bender. I still feel that the body and the frame of the car offer these options to our family. This was the first SUV that I have ever purchased. Up to this time I always drove a sedan. I thought that having something a little taller with a nice wheel ratio would be good for our crazy winters as well. (Again - thinking of teen drivers in January!)
