My Tucson was my second vehicle and I love it. it doesn't have all the bells and whistles but it has been dependable and in line with my needs and style for this part of my life. It's neither a bottom rung car nor a luxury car. I'd buy another one when it's time if it were not for the fact that by then, we will probably need a minivan due to our plans for a growing family.
Story
Once we went camping and it rained significantly. early in the morning our tent leaked and we were going to head home early because of this. We prepared our breakfast in the back hatch of the car, with the hatch open it provided a little coverage to cook our meal with the mini-stove resting on the inside of the cargo area and we sat and ate sitting inside that cargo area too. With the hatch op... (more)
Pros
I love the style. It's large enough for my current needs. It's a great blend of something eye-catching and having a good number of features and quality. being a short person, it's tall enough to feel safe and have a good view of the road, but it sits low enough that I don't feel I have to jump up into it. The room in the trunk is nicely sized and versatile with the 60/40 seats. It's roomy enough for my 6'2" husband to sit in the front or back but is compact enough for me to feel comfortable in and not feel like I'm driving a boat. The faux leather seats have worn very well and help keep it... (more)
Cons
Over the years I've come to realize a few small details that future models could improve on (and might have already with newer models that mine). The biggest complaint I have is that the air flow for heat and especially AC is not the best, and this is exacerbated by the fact that there are no rear vents. If I need to cool down the back for my kids I'm forced to freeze myself to get it back there to them. Also the rear windshield wiper is some kind of specialty wiper that I cannot find at an auto parts store, so I have to order it from the dealer which is annoying. It would be nice if the r... (more)

The Tucson is a sturdy compact SUV that feels larger than it is. It offers a relatively smooth reliable ride. Even at seven years old (it's a 2011 model purchased in 2018 with 61,000 miles on it), the car feels new and safe and at its peak. It looks like it could easily have been released in 2017 or 2018. The interior is extremely roomy - especially for the driver. The controls make sense, and the overall interior environment took very little time to get used to. The rear seat space is decent. The trunk/storage area is what you'd expect from an SUV, even one larger than the Tucson. So far, after four months and 4,000 miles, the car has been great. No problems, no repairs needed - just the typical oil change for maintenance. The brakes and tires feel like they can last for a long time. ... (more)
Story
I've had a few strangers come up to me and complement me on the car and ask what it is. Which has never happened with the last few cars I've owned.
Pros
Look, feel, reliability, engine performance, space, style
Cons
Lower than expected mileage, some glitches in audio system from time to time.
