Pros

  • Strong acceleration from the 1.6-liter turbo-four
  • Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are now available
  • Refined ride
  • Awesome handling
  • Cons

  • Slow throttle response
  • Firm ride
  • Underpowered base engine
  • Soft brake pedal feel

  • Key Takeaways

Although the 2018 Hyundai Tucson has a firm ride, it is very refined for a vehicle in its class. It has exceptional handling, and the strong acceleration provides more than enough power from the 1.6-liter turbo engine. However, the base engine is underpowered. The throttle response is slow and there is a soft brake pedal feel, which is not the type of characteristics expected for a 5-passenger SUV. With Apple CarPlay and Android Auto availability, the 2018 Tucson has the type of features that are very much in demand for drivers nowadays.

The Hyundai Tuscon is a mid-size SUV, sometimes referred to as a CUV. It's not too big and not too small. The interior is very roomy and comfortably would fit five people will a lot of cargo room. With the seats folded down, there is plenty of room to carry furniture or any bulky items. The quality of the Hyundai is as excepted from the Hyundai family. It feels like it's a quality vehicle, and I've experienced no issues with it mechanically having driven it a little under a year and around 10,000 miles. I opted for the base model of the SUV because I was looking for something affordable but also with all-wheel drive and bigger then my previous vehicle which was a Hyundai Elantra. The Hyundai Tuscon did not disappoint. I feel very safe in the vehicle, being a smaller woman. It handles v... (more)
    Story
I remember driving it for the first time during a snow storm. The reason I purchased the vehicle was because my previous car did not handle well in the snow. Having just relocated to a state that gets it's fair share of snow, I knew I needed something that handled better. During the first snow storm, it took me a few miles before I could really gauge how effective the AWD was. Eventually, I hi... (more)
    Pros
The Hyundai Tuscon is very comfortable to drive. I am a shorter woman and need to be able to sit up high. With the ability to adjust the seat up and also has several adjustments to the steering wheel, I find I am very comfortable with my line of vision and with regards to what's within my reach in the car. I also like the middle console, it is designed in a way that allows for easy access to the USB port as well as the cup holders and storage. Lastly, the ease at which it is to fold down the seats in the back. It's so simple and quick.
    Cons
The Hyundai Tuscon seems to have some blind spots. The back-up camera is imperative but also there are some areas of the side windows that block the view.
