What I like about the vehicle is how it handled and drove. It was great at driving when it actually worked, but many times, I would run into a problem at least once or twice a month. Getting it fixed was relatively cheap compared to other cars, but when your car is breaking down week after week, the expenses add up. That is my biggest gripe with this car and all other Dodge cars is that they are not dependable in the long run. What I did like about the car was the overall layout of the car. I had the Dodge Dakota without the extended cab, and to me, it was perfect. Everything was compact, and I didn't have to work much about my back seat or having any issues with that. The radio was out of date, but what can you expect from a 1998 Dodge Dakota? And it is totally upgradeable. Overall, t... (more)
Story
Driving me and my siblings to Six Flags in the new truck. Everybody was excited, and it was all around a good time
Pros
Pros of the Dodge Dakota are that it is very compact and doesn't have two side doors which I personally enjoyed. Seating in the Dodge Dakota is very comfortable and easily adjustable and of course has everything you would need. It has an overhead sun visor, basic radio, and things like that. It really is a nice car on the inside and increases the value of the car. The extended trunk was also nice since. The owner before me had the back winterized and scratch proof -- meaning that no object can scratch the back and make it look bad. There were sufficient places for me to strap things down i... (more)
Cons
There are many cons associated with this car, since it was usually in need for constant repair. Those repairs ranged from small things like getting new headlights, or changing the power steering lines, to the bigger things like replacing the throttle and engine pump. Many of these, while small, were still expensive, and the bills began piling up. As much as I like the car, it really let me down on the repair side of things. Another con of this car would be the gas mileage. The gas mileage on this car is not very good, and I found myself refilling multiple times throughout the week so that ... (more)

I bought this truck used but it was in great condition and had under 60K miles on it. To date, I've had it for about 6 years, nothing of major significance has broken and what maintenance I have done has been fairly simple and easy to do on my own. It has a decent towing capacity and is yet to disappoint me in inclement weather. Where I live we get a bit of snow in the winter and every time we get a new layer I'm able to drop it into 4WD and plow through the wall of snow (from the plows clearing the streets) at the foot of my driveway. I've taken it camping several times and have slept in the bed instead of hassling with a tent. It has a small back seat that I think is suitable for smaller adults and children but, it's been my experience that grown men do not fit well back there!
Pros
Good towing capabilities 4WD is great Storage under the back seats Minimal mechanical issues, no major ones at least
Cons
Can be used for city driving with alright gas mileage but I think parking is a pain
