This truck has been amazing since I bought it. I have never had any major issues. I live in a cold climate and it has never let me down no matter how cold. It rides great and has good power for towing with the V6. The air conditioner is cold and I have had very little problems with it. Great heat and its insulated well. It pulls a heavy trailer, boat, or jet ski with no problem. I even filled the back with wood, helped people move and never had any power issues. There is plenty of storage under the seats and also plenty of leg room. The engine is easy to access and work on. I have replaced a few things over the years. I was easily able to do any work on my own with plenty of space. Maintenance cost was very low and parts are easy to come buy. I did my cap and rotor and all 6 plugs for ... (more)
Story
I towed my jet ski around every year to the lake and filled the back up with camping equipment.
Pros
Good engine power Hearty Suspension Excellent transmission Comfortable ride Nice styling
Cons
The clear coat has been peeling and I think this is common. I had to replace brake lines in the front at less than 100k miles. The door locks started sticking on the drivers side. Gas mileage is not great. Less than 20 mpg average.

The best thing about my Dodge Dakota is that I have the model with four doors so you get all the room of a car but the utility of a truck. I got the plush model so it is like a pleasure vehicle but yet it can be a workhorse as well. Really and all-use truck.
Story
Pulling the food trailer from Lewiston to Vienna. It squatted the truck so much it looked funny going down the road.
Pros
Roomy and plush if you get the loaded model. They look sharp and sporty for a truck. It has been a steady vehicle with no major repairs needed. The four-wheel drive comes in very handy during the winter. It gets better mileage than a full-size truck. It can pull a small-sized trailer like a camper or a hauler.
Cons
First off it does not get as good of mileage as a car does only about fifteen to a gallon. If you have problems with the four-wheel drive, it has the electric switch so it would be very expensive to fix if needed. Tires for this are just as much as for a full-size truck so that can be a major expense. You can't really pull a full-size camper with it would be too much wear and tear to the truck. I got the short box model I would not choose that option again a couple extra feet in the bed would be a big advantage to the short one.
