I purchased my 2003 Dodge a year ago, nervous because I had never owned or driven a Dodge, let alone a less than full size truck. The first think I noticed was the exceptional space in the back seat. I have two children and with car seats installed there is still room for a person to sit if necessary. I appreciate this as often times my youngest needs to be soothed. I also was very impressed with the overall driving experience. This truck handles like a car which I am very used to. It is easy to park and back up and this is normally a task for me. After driving only a car or large truck in the past this vehicle turned out easier to maneuver than either of the vehicles in the past. The truck is sharp looking, being black and we have added touches of chrome to add to the aesthetics. All ... (more)

Pulling into the gas station and the young man walking up and telling me how good the truck looked
Pros
My favorite thing about this truck is how awesome it looks and how perfect it turned out to be for my family. The vehicle is timeless, it looks like a newer model truck even though it is over ten years old. I hate driving a vehicle that looks like it has aged or is out of date and this is just not the case with this Dodge. It is Black with touches of Chrome added to it and just looks sharp and clean. We have added aftermarket wheels that are chrome and black as well to complete the look. As far as the space is concerned, my family fits in this truck! We have two kids and there is room for ... Cons
There are a few things that could use some improvement on this model Dodge Dakota. First and foremost, the Air Conditioner. After service and recharge it still does not have the cooling we expected. The blower and vents are designed in a manner that the air is restricted or something and it takes a very long time for the vehicle to cool down. I really do have to start the vehicle before letting the kids in so that the back is cooler. Next is the Driver seat being narrow with the console down, and the handle to move the position of the seat being directly in the middle. This is a terrible i... (more)

The vehicle was used when I purchased it, so it already had over 200,000 miles. The interior was in very good condition with virtually no stains, rips, tears, or signs of wearing. The body had almost no rust on it aside from one spot where the truck had been dented by the previous owner. The bed of the truck was in rough shape and had several holes rusted through it, but it still help up for any tasks I needed to use it for. The underside was minimally rusted as well. It handled very well in all types of weather, especially because I didn't have snow tires on it and it still handled very well in snow and bad weather. The only things that I didn't like about the truck were a couple small details. The rear windows were incredibly squeaky whenever they were being rolled up or down and the... (more)
Story
The truck had been through Yankee Lake Truck Night quite a few times.
Pros
The top positive things that I liked about the Dodge Dakota was that it handled very well in all weather and on any terrain that it encountered. Especially in the area that I was living when I owned it, it was critical that it was able to handle whatever I tried to put it through.
Cons
The only negative things were a couple physical components of the car like the foggy headlights, broken windows, and one large rust spot where it had been dented by the previous owner.
