2007 Dodge Dakota Owner Ratings & Reviews
Write a Review
2007 Dodge Dakota - The Dodge Dakota is a great roomy family vehicle.
The Dodge Dakota is one of the best vehicles I have ever owned. It is a blessing to have room for adults to set in the back seats. The ride is very comfortable also and the stance of the truck is good.
Story
The most memorable time in our truck was on vacation. We were hundreds of miles from home and had a family medical emergency. While a family member was being transported to the hospital, our little truck kept up with that ambulance and speeds over 90 mph.
Pros
Having four full sized doors is wonderful. There is a roomy back seat that is full sized to have plenty of room for adults with long legs. The bed is a nice size for the times when you need to haul things. The heating and air seem to work well and be quick in the extreme temperatures.
Cons
Having only the V6 rather than the V8, the truck is a little slow when going up big hills and/or trying to pass. It is not as good as it should be on picking up speed when you pull out or leave a stop. Also the transmission seems like it jumps to overdrive when it does not need to. A manual transmission and a V8 engine would make this the perfect truck.
2007 Dodge Dakota - The Dodge Dakota is the best family vehicle I have owned.
The Dodge Dakota is one of the best family vehicles I have owned. The build is great. The interior room is wonderful. There are four full sized doors and plenty of leg room for all those in the front and back seat as well. The seats are very comfortable. The stance of the vehicle makes it nice to get in and out of and also easy to see out of while driving. The heating is awesome on cold winter mornings and the air conditioning is equally as good with quick cool downs in the summer.
Story
We drove our Dakota on vacation one year and while enjoying a scenic drive and some time photographing wildlife, our Dakota was charged by a large bull elk.
Pros
My favorite thing about the Dakota is the amount of room inside and that it has leg room in the back seat for my growing children. It also gets decent gas mileage especially on highway driving trips. The mechanical parts all seem to work well and hold up well to daily use. With the addition of tires that have good tread the truck goes well in four wheel drive through the snow. The bed of the truck seems small, but I own a business and travel to many different trade shows each year and the bed has plenty of room to hold all of the things I need to take with me.
Cons
The construction or materials used in the body are not what they could be. There are several areas rusting especially on the bed sides. The cup holders inside could be much better quality as the ones in the back seat are broken. The posi-traction seems to make the truck really loose in the rear when the road is wet or just slightly wet. It would be nice to have a little more usable interior storage areas. And it is a little lacking in having power when it comes to passing especially in the 50-60 mph range.
