04' FORD EXPEDITION DUD
Things started off great with our Expedition. It was the best family car we've ever owned. It was big, everything was electric, we could easily get our four children in and out of this vehicle. We had owned it for a little over two years when the transmission went out. We are a family of 6, with one income. We do not have the money to fix the transmission which is in the range of $3500 to repair. So, it sits there in the driveway while we still continue to make our monthly payments. This has been the only disheartening thing in regards to our Expedition. We have never loved a family car as much as this one. Which makes what is currently happening even more bittersweet. It has/had great power and convenient luxuries, but most importantly it fit our entire family and it did so very comfortably. The car is big, I loved having the power of a V8 and enjoyed looking down to the mini van drivers that were next to me at the stop light. We are doing everything we can to save our chips so we can get our favorite family wagon repaired and back on the road.

Great family car
Overall I've been extremely happy in my Ford Expedition. It's quite large, so that took some getting used to, but the square footage on the inside and extra cargo room makes it worth it. This vehicle is huge. It has three rows. The back one folds down completely to allow for extra cargo space. With the back row of this vehicle you can seat 9 people, so it's great for larger families. However the middle seat is a bench seat rather than bucket seats so that makes it very hard to utilize the backseat and for children to get in and out without climbing all over the middle seat. This is particularly inconvenient on rainy days, when muddy outside. The alternative is to lay down the middle section of the middle seat, creating bucket seats out of that bench. However, that reduces the start pace as well as allows for walking on the back of that seat which causes damage. So I feel this vehicle would've been better if there were a gap between the second row seats and the door, allowing a person to slip into he last row easily.
The worst features are the terrible blind spots that are created by the large bars across the dashboard window. You can easily hide an entire person walking on the street, a crosswalk, on a sidewalk or even a car inside of that blind spot. Additionally there are blind spots behind you that the side mirrors don't offer a clear view of. I corrected this problem by getting spot mirrors to place on top of the ones that came on the vehicle and have had much better luck with this problem.
The absolute best feature of this vehicle is the ability for the seats to be removed completely for each access underneath. Anyone with children knows how terribly dirty a car vehicle can get, and the bigger the car... the messier it gets. With other cars/trucks it can be a challenge to get all the way under the seat to clean out and vacuum it. But this vehicle offers the ability to simply remove the seats and vacuum the entire back. That keeps the car clean and the resell value up through the years.

Great people mover
I've had my Expedition for 5 years and its been great. Before I bought it I made sure to check out reliability ratings from various sites and the reliability really seemed to depend on the year you bought. So made sure to get a good year and sure enough I have not had any mechanical problems with it (knock on wood). In fact in five years I've only needed breaks once, which compared to Chevy or GM products I've owned, I would replace the brakes every year. So mechanically speaking I've never had a better car I don't think.
The truck is comfortable from every seat with leather all around and seat warmers/coolers and full 8 way power seats in the front seats. The back seats can also be adjusted and reclined which my passenger love. It also has dual climate control features and rear vents with its own controls. My Expedition is very stylish with running boards and fog lights and is a beautiful two tone color.
The 8 passenger seating allows me to make extra money be offer Uber XL service part time, which gets me 2x's the normal fare. When I'm not Ubering, the seats fold flat and I get a cargo area that's 8 feet by 4 feet. That's basically the same cargo area of a pick up truck, so I can haul large items when I want, which has come in very handy on home projects.
The 4.6 Liter engine gives it plenty of get up and towing power but I do notice a considerable difference in pick up when I have it loaded up with people compared to when its empty but that's probably normal.
The gas mileage is horrendous, like 15 a gallon in the city, 18 on the highway, so its not a very practical car to just drive around in but its been a great money maker for me.
