A sturdy workhorse
I have an extended-cab ford F-150 and I love it. The primary systems work very well after ten years, including climate control and sound system, and I have found it to be comfortable even after I have suffered a workplace injury, making most vehicles very uncomfortable to travel in. The truck is powerful for hauling and towing, and the extended cab means I can carry the whole family in addition to some groceries, all in the comfort of the cab. While it handles differently from my previous vehicle, a four-door sedan, it has enough acceleration and hill-climbing power that it does not feel sluggish or impossible to control. Towing a trailer is also very easy, with broad mirrors and towing light connections by the hitch. It is both strong and easy to use when hauling a trailer becomes necessary. I am not sure if I can return to a simple four-door sedan after this truck is finished. It is easy to get used to driving this truck. While it is wider, and therefore a little pickier about parking spaces, it also feels very safe, being higher up off the ground, and the impact vectors of other, smaller cars. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wanted a powerful, as well as comfortable, family vehicle. This truck is excellent.

A car-lover's truck
I am not what somebody would call a "truck person". I find myself drawn to sporty, little cars that can zip around town and get good gas mileage and provide style and comfort while I'm at it. My husband was the one who insisted on a pickup truck, and I have to say, I am really glad he did. We bought our Ford F-150 from a dealership when it was about a year old, and I fell in love the first time I slid behind the wheel. I love the feeling of being up higher than most other vehicles on the road. It gives me a greater sense of control as I drive. When I thought about driving a truck before, I always thought of a rough ride that was uncomfortable and bumpy. But I was sorely mistaken and greatly misled with this assumption. The ride is as smooth as in a car, and the seating and maneuverability are just as good as a regular car. The engine size of the F-150 is bigger than anything I have ever had in a vehicle. As a result, it is more powerful than anything I had ever driven. It accelerates quickly and smoothly, yet is light enough to brake as effectively as a smaller vehicle. The suspension is really good, which makes for a smoother ride than my previous vehicles, as well. And of course, the versatility of the pickup truck is second to none. Not only can we use it to pull our camper, but I can use it to take the kids back and forth to school, do all of my grocery shopping, and make a quick jaunt to the mall. It performs well in EVERY aspect. The downside is definitely the size of it. It is LONG. That makes it a little more difficult for me to park, and backing out of a tight parking lot is always frustrating. The engine size is both a pro and a con--it helps give the vehicle power, but it also means it uses more gas and has a bigger gas tank.
