2006 Hyundai Santa Fe OWNER RATINGS & REVIEWS
New Orleans, Louisiana
Best old car I've had.
I have traditionally only owned American SUV's. I had to buy this car in a rush right before a move. It has turned out to be one of my favorites even though it's not as big or sturdy looking as American models. It handles great and I've had relatively few mechanical problems with it. It also has a great sound system. It has a high idle and sometimes takes off too fast though. It also had a faulty battery but that was a relatively easy fix. It has plenty of room for all of my painting gear. I like that it has a sunroof and leather seats as well. Heated seats too which are great. It's a little odd looking compared to the explorers I traditionally drive, but I think it looks cute overall. it also doesn't have as much power...it got stuck in wet grass once, but I don't usually have to go off-roading in my old age anyway anymore. I bought it with high mileage already and apparently these cars don't have a great resale value. I'm not sure why though as this one is going strong and seems as reliable as a Honda or similar vehicle.

A steady, reliable and efficient SUV.
The 2006 Hyundai Santa Fe is a very solid SUV. Although not the sleekest vehicle in the world, it provides pretty good fuel economy (for an older car and for an SUV, that is) and wonderful control. The interior is comfortable without being too "open", and the trunk contains plenty of room for small furniture and other things. The controls are pretty responsive, and I didn't have to start making major repairs until around the 90,000 mile mark. I would recommend this make and model to anyone who wants something with more space than a sedan but who also doesn't mind a more economy-driven option.

Hyundai Santa Fe is affordable, reliable and functional
Hyundai Santa Fe 2006 is a very functional vehicle. Although, a relatively old model, it can still run given a high mileage. At 170k miles, I was able to still drive from state to state, also from AR to UT. It also has a cruise control function. I only had minor gas valve and aircon problems. The gas valve I had needs to be replaced as it tends to stop the gas when I am pumping. This can be easily replaced buy purchasing a new one. The aircon had leaks but can also be replaced and filled with Freon. Inside, it is spacious. Interiors look sturdy and reliable. The car can sit around six people maximum with its wide interiors. It also has a digital usb function to play music, and also a CD. I appreciate the car's cruise control, because it helps me to drive at longer distances and freeways without getting too tired. The fuel economy of this car, given that it is an SUV, is just average. I would still gas up two-three times a week. This is given that I drive long distances, around 40 minutes per daily commute. The driving experience, even with a low quality or cheap gas, is still decent, and overall, I would say that I got my money's worth for this car.
