I am a huge fan of Hyundai, but I needed something bigger than an Elantra. I went with the Santa Fe because it had a third-row seat and fuel economy comparable to the Elantra. I've been extremely happy with it in terms of affordability, safety, and reliability. It doesn't have the most power, but I wasn't expecting much in a vehicle that got almost 30 MPG. It's also extremely safe, as I have previously owned a 2016 Santa Fe that was badly rear ended. The frame essentially collapsed in such a way that protected everyone inside the vehicle, and it took most of the hit in such a way that even the third-row passengers were safe.
Story
We once had to use it to move some stuff, and by folding down the rear seats, were able to fit several appliances inside it at once!
Pros
I love the fact that it's pretty much a "compact" third-row SUV. I also am a big fan of the fuel economy -- I average about 28 MPG and only fill up once a week or so. It's easy to drive and maintain as well. I have not had a single mechanical or even electrical issue with it in the year or so that I've owned it. It's very user friendly for someone who isn't a huge car person.
Cons
The third row isn't big enough for a full-sized adult. It doesn't have a ton of pick up or power either. The seats do need to be covered, as the fabric isn't the best, and it stains easily. It also has a bit of a blind spot towards the driver's left when you're turning left. I also would have liked it to have a rear air systems, but it's all controlled up front.

2016 Hyundai Santa Fe - I love it.

I wasn’t sure if I would like his car. I went from owning a Jeep to getting a Hyundai. We had two children, and we were expecting our third, and we need something with more room and reliable in Michigan winters. This car has exceeded all of my expectations. It’s comfortable, roomy and has all the bells and whistles. Heated seats. Heated steering wheel. All-wheel drive. Full moon roof. Navigation. Third-row seating. Leather seats. Keyless entry and start. It’s easy to drive. I love feeling safe.
Story
In the summer time, we like to open the moon roof. The kids love it. And every Sunday in the summer, we would take them through the car wash and let them watch through the roof.
Pros
Keyless entry and push button start. Heated leather seats and heated steering wheel. All-wheel drive for those tough Michigan winters. My kids love the full moon roof. Especially at night in the summer time. It fits 3 kids and two audiotapes comfortable.
Cons
I wish there was more trunk space. When the back seas are up, there is barely enough room for a stroller.
