I've had other vehicles before but nothing surpasses the quality and performance of Toyota. I strongly believe Toyota cars are built exceptionally well and are built with the customers in mind, because my Toyota Tacoma truck has been the best car I have ever owned. I bought this truck used and have owned it now for over seven years. It has over 180,000 miles on it and continues to run perfectly with no technical or mechanical difficulties. My Toyota Tacoma truck is not only practical but fuel efficient too. I'm a Toyota guy now for the rest of my life!
Story
I used to live in a rural area where it snowed up to eight feet at times. Everyone knew I had a Toyota Tacoma truck in my neighborhood, and when we would get snowed in, my neighbors would call me for a ride to the grocery store. Pros
I love the longevity of my Toyota Tacoma truck. I have over 180,000 miles on it and haven't had to replace any parts as of yet. I have a hefty commute to work and find the vehicle to be very fuel efficient. It is very practical too because of the bed and makes moving and carrying big items easy and more convenient for me. Also, this car was very affordable compared to newer trucks on the market today. My Toyota truck is also very comfortable. My truck is a 1999 Toyota Tacoma. The color is mystic purple mica. Purple is my favorite color and I have seen no other manufacturer other than Toyota offer this color. I purchased the truck in October 1998 brand new. Sixteen years later I can say it has stood the test of time. The only thing I have had to do besides normal maintenance (oil change, new tires, air filter, plugs, etc.) is a new starter and a new alternator. Not bad for sixteen years. It has been a very reliable vehicle. I would not be concerned about taking it cross country now. It is a very good looking truck, reliable and gets about 26 highway miles to a gallon of gas.
Pros
Great gas mileage. Sporty look. 4 wheel drive. Low maintenance. Color. Can haul stuff. Air conditioned. Small cab that heats up or cools off in just a matter of minutes, so weather is never an issue.
Cons
It is not an extended cab, so there is not a lot of cab space, only two people at a time can travel in it. Does not have electric windows or locks. Hubs have to be locked in on the outside for 4 wheel drive instead of pushing a button inside the cab. Not a lot of indicator lights on instrument panel (low gas, battery charge, etc.)
