I love my truck! I bought it because everyone says Toyotas last forever. So far, at around 120,000 miles, I'd have to agree with that statement. There have been no major issues, no problems and nothing negative. Bought primarily as a car to get me safely to and from the snow as a bachelor, it has now transformed beautifully into a family car. It is big enough for family vacations comfortably, yet small enough that my 5 year old son can get in and out by himself. It gets decent gas mileage compared to many other trucks, yet still has the power and four wheel drive that one would want and need. I also love that the truck is big enough for my needs, but small enough to park in a cramped San Francisco parking garage. Not every truck can say that! Lastly, I love the simple yet elega... (more)
Story
My favorite memory about the truck was camping in the bed on a warm summer night. The 5 foot bed was big enough for 2 people to sleep in comfortably with the tailgate down. Falling asleep under the stars was hard to beat!
Pros
I love that the maintenance of the car is relatively easy. I'm not a car person, but I'm able to do my own oil changes without any problems. The drain plug is easy to locate without jacking the car up and the filter is easy to reach. In less than 10 minutes, I am able to fully flush all the old oil out and replace it with brand new oil. I also love that oil changes are largely all that need to be done, at least for the first 100,000 miles. While other cars require major service every 15,000 miles, the Toyota Tacoma keeps on trucking on. I also love the 6 cylinder engine. It has plen... (more)
Cons
This truck is not all perfect though. I don't like the lack of auxiliary jack for my phone to connect to. I frequently want to stream music in my car on long trips, and there is no easy way to do that. I initially had a fm modulator, but those are terrible. In the end, I installed an aftermarket auxiliary plug, which was a breeze to install, but it is less desirable than having a plug direct form the manufacturer. There is also no Bluetooth capabilities, so you really have to rely on an aftermarket plug if you want to connect a phone, etc. I also was not in love with the way the Toyota... (more)

As a part of a family who is accustomed to mini vans, the Tacoma, as a small pickup truck, was quite the addition to the family arsenal of vehicles. The minor set back is that the truck isn't designed for our family road trips, but everything else we do, it's perfect. Though it's a small pick up, we have a small home, so it sort of works out. It still maintained the ability to transport furniture and appliances home from the store (in less trips than anyone could have ever imagined), as well as a roomy cab for comfort and extra storage. It doesn't have much uphill power, but it still gets the job done when it comes to a bit of off road driving. It's been a great truck to take on fishing trips, being able to keep the cooler in the cab, rods and tackle boxes in the small storage behind t... (more)
Story
Being a part of a family that collects recycling in bulk amounts, and essentially being the recycling service for friends, this truck has hauled plenty of recycling in its short life. It's no surprise that, after stacking up a month's worth of recycling, totaling nearly $300, pulling up to a privately owned recycling center with a mountain of recyclables, one of the few gentlemen working at th... Pros
Roomy Cab Easy to use rigging technology in the bed Great Storage behind the bench seat
Cons
Bench seat, forcing everyone to sit the same way Claims to be a 3 seater, but only seats 2 (or 3rd person much be very small and is forced to straddle the area of the gear shift) Manual Powered doors/ windows/ locks
