I've enjoyed a mixture of reliability and easy maintenance with my Volvo S60. It's definitely a pleasure to drive, and I like the peace of mind having our little one riding in this car. It's not a flashy car—but what it lacks in character, it makes up for in performance, safety and overall value. Aside from the standard maintenance items, I have not had to replace anything significant to date—and we now have over 180,000 miles on the car. We've found ourselves appreciating the AWD capability more than once in the unpredictable New England weather. It has held its own on more than a few occasions where the roads were so poor due to the weather that folks had to pull off to the side—but we were able to carry on—albeit, slowly. Gas mileage still average 30 on the highway and about 21... (more)
Story
We were in the thick of an unpredictable snowstorm that resulted in many folks having to pull over on the highway. We were able to continue on with the AWD. It was slow going and took us an extra hour to get back home—but we made it while seeing many folks stranded off to the side of the road.
Pros
The miles per gallon performance is adequate. We enjoy 30 MPG on the highway and around 21 in the city. For a vehicle this size and year, that's good enough to not go running for a new car. We enjoy the sound system, and the interior cabinet is very quiet. The quality of the leather seating is phenomenal. It has really held up over the years. We regularly condition the leather so that undoubtedly has helped. The comfort of the seats is fantastic. These are ideal when traveling near or far—bucket seating in the front that really is designed to keep your posture and comfort level wel... (more)
Cons
We wish that the car had more space in the center console and glove box. The lack of technology was made up for us accessorizing with a third party Bluetooth for in car conversation, but other luxury lines had this standard in their vehicles. Volvo had an expensive option workaround we did not like. The dealership is friendly and professional, but we find ourselves going to the Indy mechanic we trust for obvious reasons: cost and turnaround. We wish the back seats had a bit more leg room for passengers. Front passenger seat becomes a little cramped when accommodating for a passenger in ... (more)

Great car, it is very sturdy and built like a tank, it feels like it can take a real beating. The car has a simple European designed interior that takes function over form, everything is easy to identify and works as it should. Car is very powerful for the entry level version and is a great highway cruiser with amazing MPG and a smooth comfortable ride that's great for long trips. Rear leg room is very small but it has a gigantic trunk. The car has a very rare 5 cylinder engine which makes it very unique in todays car engine world.
Story
Took it to all of florida with my partner and had no problems.
Pros
Great amount of power for a basic trim level Comfortable seats with motors Auto dimming rear view mirror is great for night driving Very stable at high speeds Bullet proof engine Beautiful design that attracts attention, looks like an exotic sedan Not very common so makes it unique Very safe and well built
Cons
Boring interior Almost no rear leg room for adults Front wheel drive Bad fuel economy in the city due to turbo, but great on highway Bad at cornering or for spirited driving
