Stylish Yet Rugged
Overall, the 2001 Ford Ranger is an excellent vehicle. It is a very stylish looking truck but it is also very practical when it comes to handling the way a truck should and usability. As far as appearance goes, I really like how Ford brought back the vintage truck bed style where the body is inverted from the wheel wells. It gives the truck a unique look among other modern trucks. It's a 4-door truck. The 2 back doors are half doors that open in a reverse way, opening towards the back of the truck rather than the front. This is because it's an extended cab truck. The 2 seats in the back fold out and the passengers end up facing each other in the back of the cab. It's not very spacious, but it is a nice option for a half-ton truck. The bed comes with rhino lining and that's great since I don't have to worry about scratching paint in the bed. I feel as though the quality of this truck is top-notch. It drives so nicely. I have also been able to drive right out of any ditches that I have slid into during the winter when roads have been bad. I have had no major issues with anything breaking down on it besides replacing standard wear and tear type items. The gas mileage is fairly good for a truck as well.

Great Purchase
My Ranger may be 15 years old, but it still runs and looks great. As far as repairs go, we have only had to put about $100 into minor repairs. It is not the biggest truck (in fact I suspect it is the smallest Ford offers), but it makes up for it with charm. It may not be a work truck, but it has carried, mulch, brick, furniture, kayaks, and anything else I have needed it for. On the downside, it only has around 100 horsepower, and it is very noticeable when acceleration is necessary.
