I really enjoy driving this truck. It is small enough to be easy to drive in the city, but still large enough to be able to pull small trailers or move furniture. It gets pretty decent gas mileage, and the interior is comfortable. It handles well, and the ride is pretty good.
Historia
I really enjoy taking my dog out in this truck up to the family farm. I often visit there to go fishing, hunting, or swimming. I got this truck and my dog around the same time. I like looking back at pictures of her when she was a puppy, she looked so small in the seats! Now she is a fully grown dog weighing around 80 pounds, and she has almost outgrown her seat!
A Favor
The seats are very comfortable, the ride is pretty smooth. You feel safe while driving it. It is a good looking vehicle. I have had no major maintenance issues with it, after almost 100k miles. It gets decent gas mileage.
En Contra
It has a fairly small engine, a 3L V6, so it can feel slightly underpowered. The interior is small. It can accommodate the driver and one passenger comfortably, but any more than that is a tight fit. It has "jump" style seats in the rear of the cab. I have had issues with the radio a couple of times, even right after I bought it, the radio stopped working entirely and had to be replaced. Most likely that is specific to my individual truck, and not the model in general. It is capable of pulling or hauling light loads, but the hitch is a "bumper" style and does not attach to the frame. I love my ford. The motor is solid, never had any problem towing a trailer with a decently heavy load such as four wheelers, trash, camping gear, or canoes and kayaks. I did have to do some work on the suspension, like changing the shocks and part of the front suspension after 80,000 miles, but I did make it do some work that year by driving on the "Tail of the Dragon" in Tennessee and by hauling several tons of rock and brick when building a patio. I have a camper top on mine that I use pretty often as well as a rack on the roof of the truck. It is a extended cab that I love because it gives you just enough extra room to bring the dogs or gear you need to keep dry and out of the weather,
Historia
Hauling canoes on a trailer through the mountains when the trailer tire blew out and I had to ditch the canoe on the side of the road and go finds a new tire! It was in a very sketchy tight place.
A Favor
Easy to work on. Reliable. Auto 4WD. 4.0 L SOHC V6 engine.
En Contra
Stock suspension can feel rough, gas mileage isn't great.
