This has been a great car for my family. It is a rugged and dependable vehicle, and it has withstood much travelling and a rough daily commute to work. I love the sun roof! All in all, this is a good car for someone who is more concerned about functionality over appearance, but even its appearance is still very pleasing.
Story
It seems that more often than not when my wife and I are driving together with the sun roof open, we just start singing eighties pop tunes for the fun of it!
Pros
The car gets great gas mileage, which is a bonus for the vehicle that gets me to work. Also, maintenance is reasonable, as parts for the Elantra are easy to acquire. The interior is comfortable for long hauls, and the lines of the car are still clean and appealing, even though it is an older car now. I also really love the way it handles. It can maneuver through heavy traffic with no problem.
Cons
The car has required a steady stream of maintenance. The electrical system has been troublesome, and it seems really hard on batteries. I have generally had one mid-range repair to tend to every 4 months or so. Most of them have been inexpensive in themselves, but it still adds up over time. I think it is still a reasonable trade-off for a car this old, but it still needs regular work to remain road-worthy.

This car is very easy to maintain and it runs like a clock. The fact that it was sold with a 10 year/100,000 mile warranty has improved its odds to long livelihood. The interior of the car is simple and clean, well made and stylish trim. The arm rest for the driver could be a little more padded and comfortable however. Sometimes things that are simple are just better, and in this case this car fits the bill. Simplicity was allowed me to keep this car running well and I plan to have it running for another 100,000 miles.
Story
Driving up and around to Canada was a lot of fun. Great to see my little car make it across the border and be accepted in a foreign land.
Pros
The sounds system is great, and the pick up and go power works well. There is ample room in the trunk, yet the car does not seem big and bulky on the road. Well made out of quality materials, and the body does not seem prone to rust.
Cons
The driver side arm rest could be better padded and more comfortable. Would be nice if there was auto shut off if a dome light is accidentally left on.
