I really love my Hyundai Elantra LX. It has been an exceptionally reliable and sturdy vehicle. I have driven it literally across the entire United States and never once have I had an issue. I even drove my 3 cats for 27 hours in it, and it was a smooth enough ride to where they did not panic or seem fearful. It has served me well for years. The performance is ideal for me, as it has an ECO mode that takes less gas to run and is still smooth and responsive. There's enough space in the trunk, far more than it initially looks like it would have, to move all of my personal belongings easily. It is a wonderful, practical, yet aesthetically pleasing vehicle.
Story
Driving into the area that I now live, there's this magnificent lake with a windy, beautiful, tree lined road running alongside it. Driving on that road and getting to look at all the beauty around while enjoying the feel of an easy to handle but windy road was really fun. My partner enjoyed riding through there, taking photos as I drove past the lake, and discussing returning to the area duri... (more)
Pros
The positives of my Hyundai Elantra LX are numerous. Whenever a part needs replacing, they are affordable and easy to replace myself. The seat warmers are invaluable in the winter, and the air conditioning system is fast and effective. The back up camera has made me far more comfortable with driving backwards, and makes parallel parking a breeze. The gas mileage is good, and the gas tank is large enough to where I really don't need to refill all that frequently. The interior is far larger than it initially appears, making it easy to transport and store my belongings as needed. The ride is ... (more)
Cons
As spectacular as my Hyundai Elantra LX is, there are some detriments. Sometimes, if the weather is below 40 degrees, it will hesitate to start. The key is the type that just has to be inside the cabin of the car and has a push button start, and when it's cold the car just won't start up sometimes, and on occasion the lock and unlock buttons on the key fob won't respond. I have to hold the key fob and warm it up before it will function in cold weather. The tire pressure sensors in my particular car don't function as intended, and indicate an issue any time the temperature is below 65, even... (more)

I love how my Elantra does everything I want it to... I have a moon roof, Sirius XM radio, heated front AND back seats (I've never seen that before!), and the overall inside and outside look of the car is very classy. Everything mechanically still works well on the car.
Story
I drove this car all the way from Long Island to Florida when I moved and didn't have any trouble whatsoever. I believe we only filled up the gas tank 3 times total, and mileage was hitting over 400 highway all the way down!!
Pros
Mechanically, my Elantra has served me well. I have had no engine or parts trouble. Under warranty, most things are easily fixable without any "fine print" and service departments serve the car well. It rides well enough for me, and the overall look and feel of the car is great. The trunk has a decent amount of room and the under-trunk storage compartment is helpful as well.
Cons
The biggest problem I've had are with tires. This car's suspension or drive just does not seem to hold up as well as others. I've replaced 6+ tires in my few years of owning it. The tires were not Hyundai tires -- but again, I'm somewhat blaming the suspension then. It doesn't take the road well and every hit causes a flat tire. Secondly, everything under warranty is taken care of smoothly. But hen something ISN'T under warranty... you get nailed. The volume button popped into the dashboard and Hyundai wanted over $900 dollars to replace the entire dashboard. All for a button. This is insa... (more)
