2010 Hyundai Elantra Owner Ratings & Reviews

2010 Hyundai Elantra - Pleased and confident in its reliability
Performance is better than expected for a relatively small 4-cylinder car and it can handle steep mountain roads without issue (though downshifting is necessary). It also handled being fully loaded during a cross-country move, plus another 200+ lbs in a rooftop carrier, though acceleration wasn't the greatest going up large hills with the weight. It's a standard transmission and shifts very easily and smoothly. Steering is smooth and it turns on a dime, great for U-turns or parking in a tight spot. It has been very reliable and after 5 1/2 years of ownership and 80k miles, I've never had it in the shop except for regular maintenance.
Story
I have 2 somewhat large dogs (about 60-70 lbs) that I've loaded up in the back seat for a trip to nearby woods and hiking trails. It's a scenic drive, and the dogs love having the windows down with fresh air.
Pros
It has a beautiful blue color on the exterior that sparkles in the sun (which I chose over the grey of the same model). The built-in stereo/CD/XM radio is nice and has quality sound. It has built-in USB and auxiliary ports, as well as two power outlets. The cruise control is on the steering wheel, which makes it easy to use. The cloth seats are comfortable and fairly roomy for a small car. Also a rather large trunk for a small car. Fuel economy is good, I get roughly 36 mpg on the highway (assuming properly maintained tires).
Cons
The power locks are a bit flaky. When direct sunlight hits the car too long, the driver side power lock won't work. It has to be manually locked and unlocked with the key. The exterior paint has chipped quite a bit especially around the handle, as well as the paint on the inside door handle. The paint doesn't seem to hold up to being used/touched so often.
2010 Hyundai Elantra - My Hyundai Elantra
My Hyundai vehicle has been very reliable and I am ever so happy about it. It is in near mint condition and everything was working well when I purchased it
Story
I used this car to save my friend when hers broke down on the highway and after she rode in it with me, she bought one the next month
Pros
My Hyundai was pretty inexpensive around $11500.
The handling of the car is great for an array of conditions. I had the car for a little over a year now, so I have been able to test it in an array of various conditions such as, rain, snow, and dirt roads. It does a great job of handling most all conditions thrown at it.
I also get great gas mileage as well at around 34mpg, which makes it a good car when I go on my road trips.
It has a very comfortable and spacious interior with a wide viewing angle from the driver's seat. Plus the technology that is included within the car is very pleasin... (more)
Cons
Front wheel drive only
No blind spot monitoring
Doesn't come with a v6 engine option
