When I first got the car I was incredibly excited. Every aspect of it seemed perfect to me. It was my first car and it was all I could ask for. I love this car. There are only a few features of it I do not like, and can be improved upon. The color, for starters, but that doesn't matter that much. The car is incredibly reliable. It has not broken down once in the 12,000 miles I've driven with it. The braking is good, not spectacular. The acceleration is very average. The gas pedal is a little wonky, though. Lightly pressing on the gas pedal will cause the car to not move much, however after a certain threshold the car accelerates a lot faster. Minute turns of the steering wheel don't affect the direction of the car, but bigger degrees of turning the wheel are okay, so steering is pretty... (more)
Story
I've raced my friend in it before and won, so that was a pretty great feeling. When we started, I was slightly behind, but I gained the advantage and won.
Pros
The car drives great and handles really well. I've never gotten into an accident with it. The blind spots are really small, so I can usually see if there's a car behind me. The seats are really comfortable, too. The car also features an auxiliary input, so I can play music off of my phone. This is incredibly useful and is my favorite feature. The back seat is spacious - not too cramped. The trunk is decently sized for the size of the car.
Cons
The air conditioning isn't the best. It takes a while for the air to get cold, and it doesn't even get that cold at the lowest setting. There are also only four different setting for the A/C strength. The difference in pressure between 3 and 4 is huge, and on 4 - the highest setting - the air conditioning gets really loud. When parking on a hill, once you release your foot from the brake the car rolls back a tiny bit even if the emergency brake is on.

I purchased my 2009 Hyundai Elantra new as my first car right out of college. There are a lot of features that I like about the vehicle including the roominess, great price, nice gas mileage and reliability. I have not had any major problems with the vehicle in the 7+ years I've had it. There really isn't much that I dislike about the vehicle. If I have to pick something to make it better, I would like a bigger gas tank. I would also like for it to handle a little better in the snow, but since it doesn't have AWD or 4WD I know that there's only so much that can be done. Another MINOR thing that I wish was different is that the sunglasses holder was bigger. Big, stylish sunglasses don't fit in the fold away holder. I would also like if it had power seat adjustment controls. The... (more)
Story
This is the car that I have brought my son everywhere in. He's grown up in this car, so all the memories I have of the trips we've taken are important to me.
Pros
One of my favorite features is the size of the vehicle. It's small enough to get great gas mileage but big enough to fit my son's car seat without any problem. I like how reliable the vehicle is, and I know that when repairs have to be made, they are more affordable than other brands.
Cons
I wish the vehicle handled better in the snow. I also wish there were power adjustments for the seat. The vehicle currently allows the middle section of the back seat to fold down. It would be nice if the whole back seat would fold down to give more room if you need to haul something bigger.
