The Miata is a fun car to drive. The interior has some wear, but overall looks good. We have kept up with basic maintenance and have had no major mechanical problems with it. We have found some nicks on the convertible top. Also, there is a tear where the back window is attached to the top. We have done some repairs, however the top needs to be replaced. It would probably hold up better if we had a garage or carport to keep it in/under.
Story
Late in the evening we have taken the car out for a drive. One evening my husband and I just needed to get away from the kids and talk. We put the top down and just drove out in the country in the middle of nowhere. The later it got the prettier our view was and we ended up just stopping and staring at the stars. So peaceful.
Pros
I love having a convertible. The seats are very comfortable. The fact that it only seats two is perfect for my husband and me to just get away from everyone. It is such a great way to relieve stress.
Cons

We enjoy driving it, but we only drive locally because it is not a smooth drive on the freeway. I also am not comfortable driving it at highway speeds. Besides, the trunk is basically non-existent so you don't have room for luggage anyway. It also needs to be kept covered, in a garage or carport, to help protect the top. It does have a car cover, but it is rather annoying to have to put it on and take it off after each drive - which is why we usually don't hav... (more)

I purchased the Miata as a secondhand vehicle 8 years ago for just $7,000. The car is very sleek and stylish and although not a very expensive car it gets many compliments. The gas consumption is good whether you are driving long distance or just around town. As this was the LX version there is an attractive interior with very comfortable, leather sports seats. When driving this car it feels like it is a part of you and it handles really well. I live on an island and this is the perfect island car being nippy and handling great down all the small streets. It is fast although being such a small car I never take it over about 85. It overtakes really well and the sound of the engine reminds you that it really is a sports car and loves to go fast. The sound system is a Bose and the... (more)
