We purchased this vehicle last year. My wife had been looking for a red one and found it on line in our town We drove the car, it ran great and after negotiations we drove off with it. The interior and convertible top was in great shape and the paint was in great shape so no exterior needs. The radio need to be replaced, it came with a Bose and the cost was an issue but we decided to replace it with another radio. We took it to our mechanic and they went through the car test drove it and told us it was in great mechanical shape. Since we purchase the vehicle we had to replace the clutch and that has been it. I find the ride to be rough as it is a sports car and I do not believe that I would take this car on a long trip. I do not believe I would drive it to Orlando which is about 2 hrs.... (more)
Story
My granddaughter who was six years old when we purchased the car as soon as she saw it she told her grandmother that this is going to be her car when she grow up. She said that when she can drive she is going to paint a black racing stripe down the middle of the car. So we plan on keeping this u till she drives.
Pros
Convertible. Sports car.
Cons
Getting in and out of the car.

I purchased the vehicle below retail as it is a convertible and I got it during the winter months. Despite being rear wheel drive and a super light car, it handled fine in the snow. It also did not have any issues with weather stripping or leakage in the soft top even though it was nearly 10 years old when I bought it. I did luck out in that it was low mileage, only 50K miles, upon purchase, which was half of what a 10 year old car would normally have, but the other wear & tear issues that don't correlate to mileage were virtually non-existent as well. She has functioned extremely well over the past year I've had her with no problems mechanically or otherwise. In addition, coming from a V6 to a very light inline 4 cylinder has dropped my gas spending by nearly half of what I'm used to ... (more)
Story
The day I purchased the vehicle was quite memorable as it was snowing and I came in specifically to purchase a convertible. We (I, the salesman, and the rest of the dealership) all had a good laugh about it during close of business on the deal.
Pros
Top pros for the 2007 MX5 are gas mileage (30+ MPG), handling, inexpensive maintenance, and sporty look at a low price.
Cons
Top cons would be small interior room, lack of acceleration for a sports car, and some wind noise due to it being a convertible.
