I love the elegant styling of my Nissan Altima. It's roomy inside and my passengers always feel comfortable and safe. The width of the car is perfect for parking but it feels substantial on the road. The ride has always been smooth and the CVT makes acceleration a breeze. I feel confident and smart when I'm behind the wheel.
Story
I drive clients around in my car, which I've had for 7 years, and more than one of them has asked me "Did you get a new car?" The Altima is so classic and timeless that it never looks old!
Pros
One of my favorite features of my Nissan Altima is the CVT, which is like nothing I've ever experienced in another car. The warmed leather seats are a particular favorite in cold weather. The trunk space is incredible and holds everything I could ever need. The Bose sound system has made road trips a joy and has never let me down. I've also enjoyed the set-up of the center console, including the cup holders and the two-part center console compartment.
Cons
While it's not a terrible thing, the gas tank is enormous. It takes a lot of gas to fill it, which can be expensive. The gas mileage is not as good as I had hoped it would be. The key system is good, but I end up changing the batteries fairly often. My biggest complaint is the navigation system requiring the purchase of a new DVD every two years.

2008 Nissan Altima - Nice starter car.

The car is very dependable when maintenance is kept up. Overall great power to be a base model four cylinder. I do wish the outside noise was a little quieter, but it's not overwhelming. Sleek and sporty. Handles well on the road. Great out of town mileage. Moderate in-town gas mileage. Fairly roomy for backseat passengers, and front seating is pretty much the same. Body paint has seemed to rust, and I've noticed that on many other models like mine. The interior trim is nice and sporty like. The leather, if kept up, holds very well as far as shape and color. One huge problem I've had is the dashboard during the summer get so hot that it has started to melt closest to the glass window. Which now causes a bad glare. Nissan did not find this to be a defect, so it is up to the owner to fix... (more)
Story
The most memorable moment I have with my car was when I first purchased it. My car before it was a Dodge Stratus. So, for me, that was a huge upgrade. The first thing I did was drive to my mom's house to show her my new car. She loved it and decided to take a ride to the store with me so she could pick up a few things. After that my daughter and I were on the road to the nearest town to hang o... (more)
Pros
My top positive thing about this vehicle is it was fully automatic. The interior trim was dark which I liked. I have a sunroof. I'm able to drive in standard or automatic gear. The radio comes with CD and aux jack. The windows are tinted. The rear view mirror adjusts to lighting and has a compass. The driver seat is automatic and is able to be adjusted forwards or backward, up or down. Which is great for all heights. There is dark leather interior, and the car gives off a sporty look. The door cup holders make it very convenient for all passengers and driver. There’s a place for you to pla... (more)
Cons
The top negative thing about my vehicle is the exterior paint on the top of the car is starting to rust and on the back side rear passenger side. Which I have noticed on many cars like mine that seem to be the same year and model. After going over a certain amount of miles, I've come to find that maintenance has been a little more costly. The service engine light has come on; and honestly, I'm having a hard time finding a repair shop that can fix it. I've tried three times so far. There is a constant whining noise while driving now, mainly when I reach speeds of 40 or greater. The exterior... (more)
