In general my truck functions very well. I purchased it used, but it has low mileage for a car of its age. One of the features it has is a tow load button for the transmission that changes the gearing for when you're towing something. I have found that very useful. I have had a few mechanical issues though. The HVAC had some non A/C issues which is the first time I have ever had happen with any car I've owned. The tailgate handle broke off in my hand for no real reason, one of the rear door handles is broken and the passenger pillar trim piece has fallen off too. So I guess I would have to say that the trim on the vehicle leaves something to be desired.

Can't be beat in reliability for the cost, initially and in repair/maintenance.
I liked the fact that the tow capability was very large for such an affordable truck. I really was amazed again and again how reliable the truck is. It is surprisingly very safe compared to trucks from older generations. I went from a late eighties Chevy C10 with basic insurance coverage to this comparative 2004 model. The difference in insurance coverage from basic on the older model to the newer model with full comprehensive collision coverage was roughly 20 dollars more per month. It seems this is due to all of the safety standards and antitheft technology on the newer model. I liked the fact that this was equipped with standard manual transmission, manual locking, and standard crank windows. I feel these features add reliability and help in reducing the cost. Even with this base model it still came with CD player, dual zone climate air conditioning, cruise control, and tilt steering wheel. The floor was rubber rather than carpet, I feel that this is preferable due to ease of cleaning and less wear in the environment that most trucks are used in.
