The Ford F150 Sport short bed truck is awesome. Prior to owning this vehicle I had only ever driven little foreign trucks and was highly biased towards them. For some reason, I had always viewed Ford as a generic brand. BUT! I needed a new truck with a little more hauling capacity, and the Ford F150 short bed Sport was my answer. I've never had so much fun in a truck. 5 Speed manual transmission made sliding around gravel road curves a thrill, while helping me out with gas mileage. The big tires helped me to be able to see very well, sitting slightly higher than in a regular vehicle. The paint color, though not my first choice, ended up being PERFECT for what it was. A champagne-y silver-ish metallic color that hid dirt from all my country cruising like the dust from a butterfly's wing... (more)
Story
Every day was fun in this truck. She was like a good friend.
Pros
There are so many pros for this truck. Although when I first got her, I didn't like the way the seat felt. It seemed too high, but I got used to it within a week and really became comfortable when driving. The Sport looks pretty sharp, short bed, small cab, nice clean lines. It's not a long and bulky truck like the kind you see lumbering up and down the highways these days. I really, really, like the 5 speed manual transmission! Not only do you save a little bit of money on the gas, you also get to feel like a race car driver, speeding through the gears. The truck is economical as far as p... (more)
Cons
Two cons, just two, but I find myself griping about them loudly and often. She gets stuck. This is NOT a four wheel drive truck. She's a Sport. I've been stuck in a rainstorm in my mom's front yard just 8 inches away from the gravel drive and completely unable to free myself from the wet lawn. My sisters and Dad had to push me out, seems utterly ridiculous given that I was in a TRUCK on a flat plane, INCHES from the drive, the only indicating factor, the rain. If you plan to drive through a lot of different conditions, I'd advise four wheel drive. She's quick and cute, efficient and econom... (more)

What I like the vehicle the most is how it rides. It has a very smooth ride for a truck and handles very well on road and off road. It is a has an eight-foot tool bed, and I like that, because it allows me to fit a full sheet of plywood in there while having a toolbox on it. The truck runs great and is super easy to work on, because there is so much room under the hood. I have changed the brakes myself and change the oil regularly. Since the truck is already pretty high off the ground, I don't even have to use a jack in order to change the oil. The interior of the car is very nice for a truck too. It is not overly complicated like some trucks can be. I have been a Ford Truck guy for a long time and own a much older Ford truck, so it's awesome because I can see the progression in... (more)
Story
I enjoyed the memories of driving around the truck with my dad to and from construction jobs.
Pros
Smooth ride. Easy to work on. Cheap parts. Durable, rugged, and reliable. My favorite features are that there is plenty of space under the hood, so it is easy to work on.
Cons
I do not like how this truck comes with a factory rake, so I had to put an aftermarket leveling kit on it in order to level it. Also, the clear coat faded after a couple of years.

1980 Ford F100 Truck basic trim. Lots of torque and power output by the classic Ford inline six, 300 CID engine. Reliable and easy to maintain. No computer equipment to worry about. Single barrel carburetor that starts up every-time. Lots of cargo space in its long bed. Built in the USA made out of quality steel. Engine runs very smooth and doesn't give any problems. Rebuilt carburetor, new front brakes, rebuilt drive axle and Petronix ignition system. New plugs, distributor cap and plug wires. Paint in excellent condition with no body damage. Refurbished original rims and new light truck tires all around. Clean title not a salvage vehicle.
Story
Not too many like it on the road around where I live, so people always know where I'm when I'm out and about and they see me on the road.
Pros
A classic truck that will turn heads wherever you go. Very well maintained, with regular oil changes over the life of the vehicle. No rust whatsoever. Bench upholstery in good condition. Can easily carry up to 4,200 pounds of cargo in its long bed.
Cons
Not the best when it comes to gas mileage and can be a little cold during the winter until the heater kicks in. No A/C can get hot in the cab in the summer, but all windows work well.
