The Ford F150 Sport short bed truck is awesome. Prior to owning this vehicle I had only ever driven little foreign trucks and was highly biased towards them. For some reason, I had always viewed Ford as a generic brand. BUT! I needed a new truck with a little more hauling capacity, and the Ford F150 short bed Sport was my answer. I've never had so much fun in a truck. 5 Speed manual transmission made sliding around gravel road curves a thrill, while helping me out with gas mileage. The big tires helped me to be able to see very well, sitting slightly higher than in a regular vehicle. The paint color, though not my first choice, ended up being PERFECT for what it was. A champagne-y silver-ish metallic color that hid dirt from all my country cruising like the dust from a butterfly's wing... (more)
Story
Every day was fun in this truck. She was like a good friend.
Pros
There are so many pros for this truck. Although when I first got her, I didn't like the way the seat felt. It seemed too high, but I got used to it within a week and really became comfortable when driving. The Sport looks pretty sharp, short bed, small cab, nice clean lines. It's not a long and bulky truck like the kind you see lumbering up and down the highways these days. I really, really, like the 5 speed manual transmission! Not only do you save a little bit of money on the gas, you also get to feel like a race car driver, speeding through the gears. The truck is economical as far as p... (more)
Cons
Two cons, just two, but I find myself griping about them loudly and often. She gets stuck. This is NOT a four wheel drive truck. She's a Sport. I've been stuck in a rainstorm in my mom's front yard just 8 inches away from the gravel drive and completely unable to free myself from the wet lawn. My sisters and Dad had to push me out, seems utterly ridiculous given that I was in a TRUCK on a flat plane, INCHES from the drive, the only indicating factor, the rain. If you plan to drive through a lot of different conditions, I'd advise four wheel drive. She's quick and cute, efficient and econom... (more)

What I like the vehicle the most is how it rides. It has a very smooth ride for a truck and handles very well on road and off road. It is a has an eight-foot tool bed, and I like that, because it allows me to fit a full sheet of plywood in there while having a toolbox on it. The truck runs great and is super easy to work on, because there is so much room under the hood. I have changed the brakes myself and change the oil regularly. Since the truck is already pretty high off the ground, I don't even have to use a jack in order to change the oil. The interior of the car is very nice for a truck too. It is not overly complicated like some trucks can be. I have been a Ford Truck guy for a long time and own a much older Ford truck, so it's awesome because I can see the progression in... (more)
Story
I enjoyed the memories of driving around the truck with my dad to and from construction jobs.
Pros
Smooth ride. Easy to work on. Cheap parts. Durable, rugged, and reliable. My favorite features are that there is plenty of space under the hood, so it is easy to work on.
Cons
I do not like how this truck comes with a factory rake, so I had to put an aftermarket leveling kit on it in order to level it. Also, the clear coat faded after a couple of years.

2000 Ford F-100 - It's a comfortable, nice looking ride.

I love my Ford truck! It's stylish on the exterior with the Style side option. It just looks really sharp. It's a cab and a half, so there's plenty of room inside versus a regular sized truck. We often take grandchildren out with us and the half cab is perfect! I have only had normal maintenance needed on it such as tune-ups, new brakes...That sort of thing. I feel very safe in it. Safety is my primary concern. I was in a bad accident and wanted something larger than my previous small car. I love driving it. It drives great whether I'm in town or on the freeway. The gas mileage could be better. But I feel like all the other great features make up for the cost of gas. It tows our travel trailer well too. We needed a good reliable tow vehicle and this truck is that and more. It's 4 wheel... (more)
