This is the second Mazda 3 we have purchased. We went with the same make and model again because we loved the styling, the zip, the handling, and the lack of annoying maintenance issues. This second Mazda 3 is now at 154,000 miles, with no major repair issues in its lifetime. It still has the get up and go that we initially loved. The paint and body style have held up, and people still look at it when we drive. The Bose sound system still rocks, and the plastic dashboard and components still look very good for their age. The leather interior has held up extremely well with minimal maintenance. The back seat has ample leg and head room for two people. With the back seats folded down, I've been able to transport a seven foot tree. Even 15 bags of 40# mulch. It has very few limitations. I... (more)
Story
We took a trip to a local Wildlife refuge, and were driving along photographing the wildlife from the car. A bison saw us and ambled over, then proceeded to pick up the pace. We surmised since it was rutting season the Mazda, with its curved top may have appeared to be another bison. We were able to zip away before we learned if it was love at first sight for the bison.
Pros
The handling. The styling. The longevity and reliability while still looking good. The Bose sound system. Leather seats and moon roof. Great visibility and feels very safe. No major recalls, no death trap air bags.
Cons
The floor covering. Holds everything, nearly impossible to vacuum up without raking first.

This was my first vehicle. One of the things I have liked most throughout the last eight years is that there has been very little maintenance other than normal maintenance like oil changes, tire replacements, etc. The repairs that I have had to make on this vehicle were either from accidents (there have been two) or learning experiences. As a new car owner, I was unaware that Freon has to be kept up with or you can burn the condenser. Replacing the condenser was a hefty repair. Overall, the car has been wonderful, stable and my experience has been great.
Story
This was my first car. It is the car that me and my friends would hop into when driving to a local bar in Denton, Texas. There are a lot of memories of me being the designated driver and hauling around my drunken friends.
Pros
The top positive thing about this car is the fact that there weren't a lot of repairs needed. The vehicle has never broken down and has been extremely durable. My favorite feature of the car has to be the internal lights at night. The dash lights up in both a red and purple color with the option of dimming or brightening the light to your approval.
Cons
The one thing I would change would be to get a car that doesn't have light colored interior. It dirties fast and is very difficult to clean. I like to wear dark denim and it has stained the driver's seat with a tint of blue. My next vehicle will not have light interior. Living in Texas, I would also choose to have my windows tinted.
