Overall the Mazda has worked great for me. It has rarely needed repairs and has been a very reliable car. The car drives very smoothly and feels as if it is gripped to the ground. It gets great gas mileage, and at over 100,000 miles it is still driving just as good as when I first purchased it eight years ago. The interior has enough space for everyone to be comfortable, even if you are sitting in the back. Mine has a black exterior and interior. The black on the interior has not been very hard to clean but you can sometimes easily see that it is dirty. I was surprised that my 2008 Mazda came with an Aux cord hook up. I use that every day and was so glad that it was included. The truck is spacious and has enough room to hold a ton of stuff. There are cup holders in the center console a... (more)
Story
I love using this car because it reminds me of home. I have had it through college and into my adult career. My parents are always joking about how I’m zipping around in my tiny Mazda from place to place.
Pros
There are a ton of pros that I have for this car. For one, I found the price to be very realistic and practical for this model of car. The car has never needed many repairs at all. I have had it for 8 years and still find it to be running just as well as it did when it was first purchased. The car feels sturdy and smooth while driving down the road. It has adequate space inside to fit passengers as well as bags. I feel comfortable enough inside of it to take it on extended road trips as well. One of the things I like most about this car is how it has the space needed inside but it is also ... (more)
Cons
If you want a fancier car this is not the one for you. It is practical and priced affordably. One of the things I've had an issue with is the tires. They are sport tires and wear fairly easily. I have had to get them replaced multiple times over the years. They are slim and small tires, and do not drive easily when there is snow on the ground. The car has slid multiple times in snow even when it has only flurried just a little bit. If I could go back I would have seen if all-wheel drive was an option. Also, the buttons on the dash panel have faded quite a bit. My fog lights have also been ... (more)

I have owned my Mazda 3 for almost exactly 6 years. In the past, I have been a Toyota and Honda owner but decided to try a Mazda one more time. This is my second Mazda and, while the first one (25 years ago) was a good car, I could not be happier with my second one. One of the best features of this car is how solid it is - the doors close solidly. The substantial feel of the car makes it handle well even on wet, slippery roads or icy roads, so I feel very safe. We have taken this car on several long road trips of 1,200 miles or more and found this car to be very comfortable on a long trip. Once we decided to rent a car for one of our long trips so we wouldn't put so many miles on the car. We found the rental to be so uncomfortable that we went back to OUR car, OUR Mazda for the n... Story
Rented a small Ford to take a long road trip one year-over 1,200 miles. We didn't want to put the miles on our Mazda. The rental was so uncomfortable, that we took the Mazda on that same long road trip the next year. A much more comfortable ride!
Pros
Solid feel, radio controls on the steering wheel
Cons
Gas tank opposite of drivers side (sort of awkward), an alarm goes off and a dash light comes on when your tire pressure is low. It's kind of overkill.
