Great car for long trips
My Malibu is one of the greatest cars I have ever owned. My husband and I do a lot of traveling from Nebraska to North Carolina and all between to visit family and go on vacations. This car is built great for long trips with comfortable seating and smooth riding. The great gas mileage it a plus. The size of the interior is great for traveling with the large trunk that will fit all of our suitcases and still have room for things we buy while we are traveling. We have had no major problems with my car, other than normal things like oil changes.

Not user friendly.
Overall, I really enjoy my car. I have taken it on many road trips. I went to California twice -- which is 500 miles away from me. I also took it on many 50+ mile day trips. It still looks like a relatively new car. My sister once backed it up into my father's truck, so it has a significant dent in the rear passenger door. That obviously had nothing to do with the manufacturer, but it is worth noting that even with a dent, the paint did not scratch on the car, and I never had the car repainted. However, there are huge flaws in the design, and it has cost me a lot more than it's worth. At fewer than 100,000 miles, I had to replace the throttle body. It was dangerous too! It caused the car to go into engine power down mode and simulated traction control basically causing me to only go 30 mph on the highway and have reduced ability to get off onto the off-ramp due to the traction control being triggered. It has been very stressful knowing that I could have a car shut-down at any moment, as three mechanics could not adequately diagnose my problem, because the check engine light and diagnostics didn’t give codes that said it was the throttle body. It has been a troublesome car.

Nice car
This Malibu has great handling on the road. It seems to have a very smooth ride as a driver as well as a passenger. The acceleration is a little bit of a drag. All the gauges are easy to read and notify me of my oil change schedule. I love the heated seats. While commuting back and forth to work the heated seats save my back, not to mention keep me warmer in the winter. When you commute as far as I do, gas mileage is a must. This Malibu has saved me 100's of dollars in fuel in the short 3 months I have owned it. The trunk is nice and roomy as well as deep, lots of carry space in there. I have noticed a few things I feel were bad design concepts in the interior. One being if you are over six feet tall, getting out can be a little painful to your head or forehead. I do have to comment on the overall interior cloth used on this model, it feels a little rough and of a cheaper quality. It seems to me they were trying to make it a sportier look by combining leather with cloth but failed to do so. The interior is black and could possibly be the reason it looks a little cheaply made.
