This has been my favorite car I've driven/owned. I had a non-hybrid Escape previously and was so happy to be able to upgrade when I could. The mileage has been great, especially for a small SUV. On any given day, it might be a rolling craft store or class or a political campaign office. It did take me a little bit of time to get used to the engine turning off whenever I stopped the car, and it still makes some friends who ride with me a bit nervous. The ride is fabulous, very smooth, but you can still feel the road. Much more like a car than a truck. Seats are easy to get in and out of, though my 80+ mom now does take longer to be able to get in. The SYNC that connects my phone to the stereo system is fabulous, so I did not continue with the Sirius membership. The sound quality is perf... (more)
Story
My Escape is a Hybrid Green color and for years, it was the only one of its kind in town. Friends would know wherever I was because it stood out. Just this week, I was inside two different places, and each time, a former co-workers recognized my car in the parking lots and came in to find me. My car was also used in parades for a local political candidate, and it really caught everyone's atten... (more)
Pros
The driving experience is fabulous. It's not so rough as a truck, but not too smooth where you can't feel the road. It always gets me where I need to go and back, even in our heavy winters.
Cons
Whenever the battery disconnects (during servicing or when I accidentally let the battery drain), the Sync system vanishes. But once I figured out which fuse to reset, no longer a problem. But it did confuse me and the folks at the dealership.

This compact SUV is the perfect vehicle for those that want the option to be more rugged outdoors. Not only does this car handle city driving well, but it's most impressive when going camping in the wilderness. This SUV has one of the smoothest rides. The giddy up in this car is amazing as well. Does not handle like an SUV.
Story
Going camping at Lake Tahoe. It held three people and all of their camping gear for a week long trip.
Pros
Large back seat capacity to hold people, dogs, camping gear, coolers and more. Seats fold down flat to make sure every inch of space is being used. Leather seats for easy clean up. Roof rack to be able to have larger items there. Towing capabilities to haul trailers and other items.
Cons
Larger than most compact SUVS. Wide turn radius. Expensive up front to purchase. One time the child proof locks got stuck and the dealership did not know how to fix it, apparently a common issue. Both back seats have to be folded at once, cant have just one.
