2006 Ford Five Hundred OWNER RATINGS & REVIEWS
Carlisle, Iowa
Spacious and comfortable.
This is a spacious car with lots of leg room for you and the passengers. The car comfortably seats you and four passengers. It has four-wheel drive and I have rarely had issues with it. With regular upkeep and oil changes, I have put over 300,000 miles on it and it still runs smoothly. After many years of owning this 2006 model, it has started to rust. This is to be expected though, as I live in the Midwest where cars are exposed to many different types of weather. This particular model has heated seats and a sunroof. The trunk is the largest I have ever seen on a vehicle. It is two to three times the size of other cars I have owned in the past. Visibility is not an issue with the large windows. I feel that it is very easy to see out of the car, which makes the car feel even more safe. I feel I certainly have gotten my money’s worth when buying this car, as I have rarely had issues with the vehicle. It is reliable, safe, and comfortable.

Most reliable car I have ever owned
The space in my car is great when setting in the back even the tallest of my friends has ample space and is not cramped. It is great on long trips because we can fit five comfortably and no one is cranky when we arrive at our destination. The sunglasses holder in the headliner in front is great and convenient. There is an extra compartment in the top middle of the dash that allows for small storage optimal for a hand gun or your favorite CDs. There are two outlets allowing for charging your phone while also plugging in devices such as portable DVD players for the kids. Another great thing is that the car has held its value pretty good over the last nine years.
Things that I found that are common with the fivehundred: The Master Brake Cylinder went out early on and was over 500 to fix I felt this should have been a factory recall. Another thing that I felt should have been a factory recall is the top motor mount that wears out early. The driver side seat belt has started to stick but then again the car is almost 10 years old.
Hands down the fivehundred is the best car I have ever had the chance of owning. I do not have a large income and have not had the best luck with other cars in the past. For a full-size car it truly has all that I need.

Reliable car especially for young drivers
This car has been in my family for many years and has been one of the more reliable vehicles for years. It was able to handle as a commuting car and then a car for a new driver. After 200,000 miles, it still only needed limited work and was able to drive well for more local trips. No major parts repair was needed, and the interior held up well after being used by a family with small kids. The engine and working parts do not make much noise, and there are no rattling or shaking noises from the interior. The interior was roomy enough to fit everyone but compact. The trunk has had plenty of storage. The interior design was nice, and the leather seats held up extremely well. Dislikes included a poor mpg, and the air conditioner was one of the first things to go completely. The heating system also worked poorly, however, the sound system was easy to navigate and worked well. Also had issues with the windshield. It cracked twice, and the crack expanded at an extremely rapid rate. Also with a small gas tank, the car required frequent trips to the gas station.
