I purchased a 2013 Ford Escape XLT because it was the last model to feature a traditional SUV shape. I didn't know what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised by the Escape. It looks great on the inside and out, handles like a dream and gets the gas mileage I need.
Story
The Escape was a graduation gift for my son. We filled it with balloons and surprised him with it. I thought a dozen balloons would be more than enough to fill the Escape, but it was roomier than expected so I had to buy more. A good problem to have!
Pros
I love the interior of the Escape. Everything is where it should be...It is very intuitive. The trunk is also very roomy when the back seats are down.
Cons
The only con I have with the Escape is the Sync system. Well actually, I have a love-hate relationship with it. I love the idea of Sync, but I hate how it consistently fails me. I can't begin to explain how many times it has failed to recognize my iPhone is plugged in. It's easily the most frustrating aspect of the Escape.

At (55) years of age, I have owned more than a few cars. I can honestly say that my Escape is one of the best, if not THEE best vehicle I have owned. It's very reliable, has all the creature comforts, and with a V6 engine, it has plenty of power. The XLT package includes a power sunroof, and premium sound system, which I love.
Story
I drove for Uber for a few months. I had one chick take off her top and nearly climb out of the sunroof, drunk and screaming at people.
Pros
Reliability, powerful engine, handles great, power sunroof, great sound system, leather seats, it has it all.
Cons
It's a smaller vehicle, so it doesn't have quite the room I would like, and the gas mileage isn't great.
