I currently drive a 2010 Ford F150 Lariat. I bought this vehicle brand new with less than 100 miles on the odometer. I now have over 60,000 miles on it. This truck has held up very well over the past six plus years. After 60,000 miles, I have yet to pay for a major repair. With regular oil changes and tire rotations, my truck has been performing flawlessly. The V8 engine that came with my truck has been everything I hoped, plus more. It is not an Eco boost, but it still provides plenty of power. The one drawback to not having an Eco boost engine that was offered the following year is that the fuel economy could be better. This vehicle does not have the greatest gas mileage, but truck owners generally do not purchase trucks for the gas mileage. Between the power that the engin... (more)
Story
My family and I just bought a four wheeler. We loaded it up in the bed of the truck and took it out riding. This truck has allowed us to come closer as a family because of its endless capabilities.
Pros
I absolutely love the Super Crew cab this truck offers. There is so much legroom in both the front and second rows. Grown men, such as myself, can sit in the back seat without my knees touching the driver or passenger front seats. I also love the backup mirror that came standard with the truck. Between having the Super Crew cab and the extended bed, the truck ends up being very long. Having a back-up camera already installed has made driving and parking a breeze.
Cons
The biggest drawback with this truck is the gas mileage. I guess there was a reason why the gas tank is a staggering 36 gallons. When gas prices had reached $4-5 per gallon, it was very costly to fill up the gas tank every couple weeks.

2006 Ford F-150 - A great American-made truck.

My vehicle is a 2006 Ford F-150 with the Lariat trim package. This is a terrific truck for a family, as it seats five very comfortably. It is very roomy, and the leather interior makes long trips very pleasurable. It is loaded with features like power windows, mirrors, and door locks, heated seats, and a power rear sliding window. The power under the hood combined with the reliable four-wheel drive make this a very capable off-road vehicle while still feeling luxurious on the inside.
Story
Upon getting this vehicle, I promptly put a camper shell on it and built a bed frame out of PVC for the back to hold a queen air mattress and took my youngest child camping with it. We had a blast, and with the 4WD, I didn't have to worry about getting it stuck on the back roads somewhere.
Pros
The best part of this truck is its ability to handle just about anything that is thrown at it. The 5.4 liter V8 and 4WD option will get you in and out of just about any type of terrain that you can think of. The options that come on the Lariat trim package are also a major plus. This truck features leather seats, power sliding rear windows, power windows, power mirrors, power door locks, keyless entry, and for the back seat passengers -- a back seat 12v charging port and their own A/C vents. The fact that it has four full doors and a full 6.5' bed is also a huge plus. This is great fo... (more)
Cons
There are a few cons with this truck like any other vehicle. Like many other Fords, it chews up the front brakes quickly, making for dirty front rims that are perpetually covered in brake dust. Mine also has an issue with the driver door not latching properly which creates a loud clunk sometimes when you are on bumpy roads. Finally, the gas mileage does leave something to be desired. It is a full-size truck, so 14 MPG is about the best you are ever going to do.
