I searched far and wide for this car and actually traveled over 700 miles to go pick it up from the dealership. Specifically this car is a C30 T5 standard transmission which makes it very rare. The car is super zippy and handles really well in the NY winters. Great on gas, about 315 miles to the gallon
Story
When I was driving the car back from Pittsburgh to Long Island, not truly understanding the zippiness of the car, I got pulled over doing 90 in a 75. Although it sounds bad, it was a great memory
Pros
Sirius radio, standard transmission, great sound system. Fits 4 ADULTS very comfortably despite being a hatchback, Larger than it looks trunk.
Cons
The car cannot comfortably fit a bicycle in the back even with the seats down due to the handlebars not making the clearance of the hatch unless you take the front wheel off. Expensive to maintain, parts are not cheap

1993 Volvo 940 - I love this car—it is reliable, comfortable, and easy to drive.

This vehicle was bought as a used car by my parents when I was in elementary school. I began driving it in high school and have found it to be a great car. I have now been driving it for five+ years and haven't looked back! It was my first car and I will be driving it until it really dies. I like that it takes some work to get it above 50mph and that it's very comfortable for long drives. It has also been relatively low maintenance which I really appreciate.
Story
I remember when my family bought the car very well. The family selling it to us had the same last name as my family, and had named the car Sphen. They loved the car and started crying when they sold it to us. I think I will cry when I have to give up this car too. More recently, one morning I was woken up by a loud crashing noise and looked out the window and saw that a U-Haul had hit the end... (more)
Pros
The best things about this car are: the seat warmers and heating system, the turning radius, and the comfort level. The seat warmers work really well and work quickly. It's great in the winter and always feels like an exciting bonus feature. The heating system in this car works well too—the air heats up in less than a couple minutes and the car is warm and cozy in no time. The turning radius in the car is excellent and makes parking, tight U-turns, and other driving needs much easier—especially when learning to drive a car. This car also has a very roomy and comfortable interior which make... (more)
Cons
The most negative things about this vehicle are the mileage and the size. The mileage is not great—around town I have a difficult time getting more than 14-17 miles to the gallon. Sometimes with only freeway driving, I can get above 20 miles to the gallon. It's not the worst mileage for an old car, but certainly not the best either. The length of this car also makes parking in small parking spaces pretty difficult—especially in parking garages or tight parallel parking spots. It's difficult, but the turning radius makes up for that a little bit. The gas meter has also stopped working below... (more)

The 2015 Volvo XC60 has been the perfect car four our small family. It's the first car I've ever purchased and I will be a Volvo customer from here on out. It has a touch of luxury, but is not heavy handed like other vehicles in its class. The exterior of the car is sleek (not boxy like prior Volvos) and takes their style to a new level. The interior of the vehicle is also beautiful, with soft grain leather seating and interior. It sits five comfortably, though it can get a little cramped at times. The safety features include adaptive cruise control, backup camera, and lane departure warning. The car also features key-less entry, programmable seats (for up to four drivers), and you can control the tailgate via remote. The navigational system is good and up to date. The voice navigatio... Story
This was the first vehicle I ever had a hand in picking out. The Volvo dealership didn't have what I wanted in stock, so we had to have it built out and shipped to us. While waiting for the vehicle, I created a playlist to listen to the car when we first got it. The playlist included Big Sean, Kayne West and Rick Ross. We had a great time driving home from the dealership with the sunroof open ... (more)
Pros
There are good safety features including the back up camera, lane departure warning and predestination notification features. By far, the adaptive cruise control which automatically slows down the vehicle if you get to close to another car is the best feature.
Cons
Compared to other crossovers, the interior is a little small with cramped leg room in the back. Additionally, the fuel economy is not that great.
