Reliable, cheap service, but gas mileage could be better.
My 2002 Chevy Suburban is an excellent car. Bought it used a few years ago. It was very well maintained by the previous owners, so that definitely contributed to the overall quality of the vehicle. Has all the bells and whistles you would expect in brand new car, but it's 15+ years old. It's very reliable. It had some problems with the battery disconnecting and the brain box, but after servicing those problems, those are the only real issues I've had with it. It's a large SUV with a V8, so of course, the gas mileage could be better, but for what it is, the gas mileage is extremely good. It has performed very well while I have owned it -- requiring less large maintenance/service jobs than I would expect for a vehicle of its age.

A great choice for large families
I love this vehicle because it is so useful. The Suburban was one of the original sport utility vehicles, and there is no doubt why. I love the roominess of the cabin and the fact I could not only seat nine people but also carry quite a large amount of cargo at the same time. Admittedly, the 2002-era base trim level is a bit plain and won't turn any heads, but it is supremely functional and made well. The engine is very strong and is capable of towing with ease. The gas mileage isn't the best but still decent on the highway.
