Made for family
Our vehicle has 150,000 miles. I would say it has to be the best large family vehicle on the market. With several young children the interior has room for several car or booster seats. The leather seats are easily cleaned and extra durable. There is storage behind the seats as well as several cup holders. One of the best aspects is the extra cargo room behind the third row. There's plenty of space for bikes, groceries or luggage for travel. The engine runs smoothly with no issues. Our v8 has plenty of power.
Perhaps one thing I wish our suburban had is pop out windows to help airflow in the rear. It would also be nice if our version had a cd changer and did player. But that was a purchase choice, not a design flaw.

What every big family needs
The best part about this car is that it has so much space. We can fit seven people in our suburban very comfortably, since we have captains chairs. We have three kids, so having the extra room is very crucial. The older two kids are able to get in and walk back to their car seats while I put the baby in her car seat that is in one of the captains chairs. Yes, you could get a Tahoe with similar seating, however, you would be missing out on the huge trunk! We recently took a weekend trip that required us to drive eight hours each way. The ride was as good as it could get—thanks to all the room we had in the car for riding activities, like coloring and even building Legos. We also have a DVD player, and it was nice to have the comfort of laying back and relaxing to watch movies during the drive. Without the trunk space, we would have needed to buy a separate carrier for the roof rack to put our stuff in. I really have nothing but great things to say about this vehicle. The only con, which I don't really consider to be a con because it is to be expected with any large vehicle, is that it doesn't get the same gas mileage as our Camry. We do spend a good bit in gas when we take it anywhere other than the grocery store or things like that, but it is so worth it. We feel so safe in this car. We don't stress too much about getting hurt in crashes, because we don't feel like we would get squashed like a bug. This is really the best family SUV you can get, without sacrificing your sense of style.

Luxury for the "Mom Taxi" !
I purchased this vehicle new in 2006. It is the second Suburban I have owned. It is an overall perfect car for a mother of four. I purchased the bench seat version, which will sit 9 people. I love that when you are driving on the freeway, you are high enough to see over other smaller cars and able to see several car lengths in front of you. It is a very heavy car, making it seem much safer in case of an accident. It does have, however, one small blind spot on the driver's side. Other than routine maintenance, we have never had any mechanical problems with the car. The rear cargo area is very roomy-able to fit three large dogs, or approximately 8 large pieces of luggage. It did originally come with OnStar as well. It also has the radio and phone controls on the steering wheel, which is very convenient. We have over 150,000 miles on the vehicle and it still runs very well. Has good power when accelerating to get on the freeway. Brakes do not wear out quickly.
