I had always been a Ford girl, until my Ford laid down and was going to cost a small fortune to repair. Yes, I was one of those unfortunate individuals that got the 6.0 Powerstroke. So, I decided to go with a new Chevrolet Truck. At first I was a little worried that it wouldn't pull my horse trailer since I went to a gas engine from a diesel, but I have been happy with its performance. It drives, rides and handles great. I love having the 4WD, which has saved me a time or two especially at horse shows and my son's motocross races. I would have to say the only things I have found wrong with my truck are that the gas mileage is horrible, when it rains real hard sometimes water will get in my rear door, and it seems like a lot of the maintaince has to be done at the dealerships
Story
Four years of hauling my son and his friends around all over the Midsouth. Especially 4 trips to the Jesse Owen cross country meet in Alabama lets just say it does really well in the mud.
Pros
The top things about my truck that I like is that is a comfortable ride for a 4WD, and it hauls my horse trailer well along with anything I might want to throw in the bed of my truck.
Cons
Having to go to the dealership for most of the maintance performed on my truck. The gas mileage is not very good.

This truck is dependable, tough, economical, and also has good performance. I've put this truck through many different paces through decades of ownership and it has never failed me. It's been used in farm work in the Midwest, driven through tough terrain in Canada and Alaska, and also been an everyday vehicle. The engine provides plenty of power for both towing heavy loads and also cruising the interstate and passing. The body has held through tough winters and lots of road salt without rusting away. The truck is economical enough overall that it provides decent gas mileage when used for commuting or driving long distances. The main components of the truck have held up over the years and only needed basic maintenance or replacement at an appropriate time.
Story
Taking the truck on a trip to Canada and Alaska.
Pros
The truck is easy to work on. It was made in a time before vehicles began to be filled with many expensive, easily breakable sensors. This is a vehicle that a non-mechanic can work on at home. The engine in this truck provides plenty of power, either for towing, cruising at highway speeds, or hauling a load in the truck bed.
Cons
Some of the electronic systems are out of date, such as the radio, only has a tape deck. Missing things such as a usb plug that could be useful for a smart phone. Some systems are out of date, such as the air conditioner would need to be retrofitted for a newer coolant type. The looks are fairly plain. Does not have four wheel drive.

The best thing about the truck is its ability to tow and haul equipment. It has a large bed that allows for minimal back and forth trips. While it is a larger vehicle it is great on gas, I am able to fill it up once per week and that includes multiple trips into town and to and from work. The one dislike I have is the fact that it does not have power windows or locks. This can be a problem when it is warm and I wish to roll the windows down, I have to stop to roll the passenger side down.
Story
When I first meet my husband he took me to our local beach and we had a date in the bed of his truck. He laid a blanket down and we had ice cream and watched the stars out by Lake Erie in Bay Village OH.
Pros
The top pros of this truck is the fact that it has a large bed which is great for hauling and transporting things (mulch, fire wood, and furniture or scrap). Another pro is the fact that is a large truck and people do not tailgate, in fact they are intimidated by it, which my wife likes.
Cons
The top negative are the fact that because it is so large it can be difficult to park in parking lots or parking garages. It is also very loud upon start up which because I leave for work early in the morning sometimes the neighbors have complained.
