Overall this vehicle has a very strong body and doors. Makes me feel very safe with not too much "plastic" feel in places like most newer vehicles. It feels like a "tanker" on the road and no one can run me over - I like that security. That security goes far when I have children aboard. I can even put the dogs in the back!
Story
Going tail-gating and opening the back to sit there and having a BBQ in the parking lot. When one of the little ones were tired, I was able to put her down in the back seat to sleep while the rest had a blast. Tail-gating is one the fun times we had.
Pros
My top favorite features are as follows... There is plenty of room in the vehicle no matter what I do. Comfort is a plus, can drive for many miles or take a trip and be comfortable. My vehicle is lifted a bit and can see a few vehicles up in front of me, makes driving less stressful. I can put the back seats down and make even more room! There is cruise control, love it!
Cons
Need better antennae, radio just never comes in well, even with a new one. Better interior carpet, would be nice to make a little softer. The driver side window, instead of heading all the way down when you tap it, goes only a little. Wish it was a little better on gas.

My old Chevy has 290,000 miles!. It has been a good truck over the years. Good truck to work out, I have been working out of this truck for about 5 years. It drives well and is a heavy truck. The only complaint I have is the gas mileage. It seems like I have to put at least 20 dollars a day in it to keep me on the road and going. It was bought used with about 170,000 miles and it presently has 290,000 miles. At 250,000 miles I had to replace the motor. The used motor was relatively cheap and found a good mechanic to put it in cheap. It wound up costing around 1200 to get it fixed up. At present the power steering system has been acting up and it has been a nightmare. It has been leaking for quite some time now and I have just been adding power steering fluid to get by instead of addres... (more)
Pros
Good truck. Handled good, was good truck to work out of. Good on long trips plenty of room.
Cons
Horrible gas mileage.

The Chevrolet Suburban is reliable and safe. It always starts, runs smoothly, and handles well. Mine has a steel bumper that has been hit twice, with no detriment whatsoever to my vehicle, although it did dent the offending vehicles. The doors feel heavy, which I appreciate, as I think they will keep my kids safe in the even of an accident. Overall, I rate my Suburban very highly.
Pros
This is the roomiest vehicle I have ever owned. I can fit several full sheets of plywood, 8' x 4', along with a stack of 2x 4's and ten gallons of paint, without even laying the seats down. I once hauled a whole set of living room furniture in the suburban. The seats are very easy to put down when you need to. I have hauled small livestock, feed, and a whole neighborhood of children. The dedicated cargo area behind the last seat could fit half a cord of wood.
Cons
The suburban lacks somewhat in acceleration and braking, compared to a smaller vehicle, but compared to the vehicles its size, it handles like a dream. It's size contributes to its less than stellar gas mileage, but that is also to be expected. Besides the fuel cost, it is very inexpensive to drive, since it seldom needs repairs.
