I bought this truck from a very close friend, who is the original owner, and also a certified master mechanic. As my first full-sized truck, and also my first American-made vehicle, I immediately fell in love with every aspect of it including the size, the color, the V8 engine, the way he engine sounds, the power, and various amenities. Amenities include stereo system, weather control system. daytime running lights, magnificent power steering, the layout under the hood, and the extended cab. I've never had a truck that runs or sound better than this truck and his engine.
Story
Working 60+ hours every week, this truck has made my life comfortable, simple, easy and convenient. It is easy to pack the family and dogs in to take a trip with little stress or worry.
Pros
The extended cab is my second favorite feature of this truck. It is large enough for my fiancée and I to essentially "live in" comfortably when we go through extensive and strenuous periods of overtime at work. It easily hold both my partner and myself, my partner's two children, and my two dogs comfortably and happily even on long road trips. I know that I can rely on this truck to get us all safely to where we need to be. Every time I crank the truck and get on the road, the sound of the engine sends shivers of happiness down my spine, and I cannot get enough of it.
Cons
While I got the truck for a phenomenal price due to buying it from my close friend, the transmission went out completely no more than three months afterward. The 4L60E transmission that is common in Chevy, Ford and GMC vehicles has a HUGE design flaw causing failures due to the design of the "sunshell" housing. After three months I had to pay more than I gave for the truck to have the transmission rebuilt due to serious oversight in the design of this common transmission.

My truck is a 1998 and has only 83,000 miles on it. It has never let me down and has provided some great fun for me. For this reason I would not trade this truck for anything. The memories made in it are also excellent.
Story
I took my truck offroading in a place that my girlfriend told me about for the fun of it. We did not know if the truck would make it through the tough terrain, but it did and as a result we got an amazing sunset view.
Pros
It is reliable and great off road. I have taken this truck through some rough trails to go hunting and adventuring, and I am certain that most other vehicles would not have made it through what my truck did. It also has great power and torque and tows great. It is modern enough to have power windows and comfy seats, yet old enough to look the part. The paint still shines after all these years, which is great to me. While it has had some things go wrong over the years, that is to be expected. It has never left me entirely stranded in a situation, which is exactly what I can ask for from the... (more)
Cons
One drawback of the truck is the gas mileage. I do not get more than 15 miles per gallon most times, which can be quite expensive when I need to drive often. The fact that it does not get good gas mileage is honestly the only con to my truck that I can think of.

I have had my truck since my dad bought it for me when I turned 16. This truck is one of the most reliable vehicles on the road. They have great power, and I personally have had very little problems with a truck that is 20+ years old. I'd say that's pretty good. These trucks are also very customizable. With so many aftermarket products for them, you can really make yours unique. This is also a great truck for hauling trailers and whatever you need. I would definitely recommend this truck to anyone in the market looking for a used truck!
Story
When me and my friends were leaving school one day, and this other buddy of mine thought his truck was faster, but I got the jump on Jim and beat him. I had never raced before, but it was a thrilling experience, but I wouldn't do it again.
Pros
There are a lot of pros to this truck, such as the power, the look and the interior space. There are different body styles as well, so you can have a single cab or extended cab or crew cab. I believe '90s model Chevy trucks are the only ones that did this. The truck handles great when you hauling equipment and trailers. The maintenance has been very easy thus far for me.
Cons
The only cons that I can really think of are fuel economy, which is excepted with an old style American V8. The other con would be since the truck is old the underside has rust, and it can be difficult to unscrew some screws.
