I have a love/hate relationship with this vehicle. When everything is working, it is great. However, that is usually seldom and far between. It has a really smooth ride. It is also very spacious and suitable for families with children. There is a lot of rear cargo space and the back seats easily fold down. I love the sun roof which you normally don't see in older SUVs like these. One interesting "nugget" to provide about this vehicle is that it has a voice recorder in the rear-view mirror - I can remind myself what I need to buy at the grocery store or what new song I just heard that I need to go home and download! However, we have had multiple ongoing problems. First, the vehicle would not hold a battery and we could not figure out why. We bought several new batteries, different sizes... (more)

Definitely can go "off-road"!
Pros
My favorite thing about this vehicle is probably the way it looks. It is very sporty even though it is a mid-size SUV. It has slightly tinted windows and my husband installed some board runners and sun guards and it really makes the vehicle look a little more "mean" than the average soccer mom SUV. I love that it has a sun roof! It has a really nice ride and good handling and steering. I also like that it can really get up and move when you want it to! I really like that the back seats are easy to fold down and there is more than enough cargo space to meet the needs of the average family. ... (more)
Cons
I definitely do not like the fact that the dashboard was completely sucking all of the juice out of every new battery we put in. I think it also could get a little bit better gas mileage, especially on the highway.

The 2004 Chevy Trailblazer I have has been a great vehicle to our family. This vehicle has a really smooth ride even over some of the rougher spots you can find around Pennsylvania. Shock absorption worked perfectly. The fabric on the interior has held up and cleans very well. The carpet however is not so easily scrubbed. There are lots of crevices in the center console that are irritating to clean with the removable rubber cup holders. Overall, the exterior is in excellent shape and there are no rust spots or worn out patches on the paint, however there is normal wear on the back plastic part of the bumper. This vehicle is equipped with an awesome stereo that was installed by the previous owner that produces great sound. It does eat a bit of gas when doing day to day tasks and errand... (more)
Story
Our first family trip in this vehicle was to the Baltimore Aquarium in Baltimore, MD.
Pros
This vehicle has adequate space for my family by providing enough space between the front seat and the dash and the back of the front seats to the back. If more trunk room is needed the seats fold down neatly to collapse the back seat and allow more space. The back windows are appropriately tinted to allow for some privacy with whatever is transported in the back. The suspension allows for a smooth ride wherever we are traveling to.
Cons
I was disappointed after my first accident when I learned that there were plastic bumper covers, covering a smaller metal bumper. I dislike the over usage of gasoline when I'm driving around the city. I do not like that there is only one keyhole to unlock the doors especially if I don't have the clicker to unlock it from afar. I think that some of the materials in the interior could have been better matched to the silver and black colored exterior.

2006 Chevrolet TrailBlazer - I like that it is an economical vehicle to drive and it also has 4 wheel drive.

My 2006 Chevy Trailblazer has been a wonderful car to own and to drive. Other than routine maintenance, I haven't experienced any difficulty with the vehicle, and it gets good gas mileage for an SUV. The drive is always smooth, and the comfortable seating makes long trips enjoyable. Even the passengers who ride with me comment about the leg space and how comfortable they feel when riding in the car. I enjoy the sun roof on those nice days and often drive with it open, even at night. The interior is nice and shows very little wear even after 10 years. I often take use of the towing capabilities and find that the engine handles the extra loads quite nicely. I like that the Chevy Trailblazer has 4 wheel drive and can handle the rough roads that I have to travel, especially during ... (more)
Story
One day we had an old medal building that we were going to haul off and recycle. The building had been smashed and compressed as much as possible with a tractor, but there was a swampy area it had to pass through to get to the road so it could be hauled away. The tractor could barley budge it and definitely couldn't navigate it through the swampy area. I was able to attach a tow rope to the... (more)
Pros
The top positive things are the reliability of a well-made vehicle that requires little maintenance and the 4 wheel drive. My favorite features include the sun roof and towing capabilities.
Cons
I don't have any negative things I feel about my car.
