Forever running car
I have 1999 Chevy Lumina that has 210,000 miles on it. This car runs like a champ. I get about 20 miles per gallon city. On the highway I get about 25 MPG. There was only one cup holder in the car. I installed a center CD and cup holder piece and it worked out well. I did put some money in to this car. Really nothing more than regular maintenance. My car and other Luminas I noticed have rust around the gas intake. Also my air conditioner does not work. I was quoted $700 for it to be fixed. I turned the offer down. This car has some good acceleration. It will get up and go. I do believe I have small oil leak. I also have had problems with it over heating. That got taken care of by some stop leak.

Very good running car. Have had it for about 7 years now and still runs great
I own a white 98 Chevy Lumina. I like this car because it is decent on gas and runs very good. I have had this car for about 8 years now and have had no problems out of it and it still runs like a dream. I like that it has all power windows and has a lot of room for passengers in the car. I do have to say that one thing I dislike about the car is the way it looks. It doesn't look bad but just wish it looked a little more sleek and sporty. The overall quality is great and it drives and handles well and easy on gas. Also this car has very low cost of maintenance and is very comfortable to ride and drive in.

Oldie, but a goodie
The Lumina is a great car for puttering around locally, or even venturing out past your comfort zone. The great air cooling system makes for a good ride in warmer weather, and the ample trunk space allows for large items to be carried. The performance of the car is good; and it's held up well over the years. When properly taken care of the car runs wonderfully.
I personally found the seat space to be nice. My dog loved to lounge in the back seat, sprawled out as far as she could.
As for fuel economy, I find the Lumina runs like any other car of her type. It isn't the most expensive car to own, but I feel the gas mileage could be better. It holds a bit of gas, but I feel the engine just sucks it down in a frenzy some days!
At the age it is now, there is a slight rattle to the engine and I've had to replace a brake (though, I feel that was due to age more than anything.)
