I would not buy this car again. We have had all kinds of problems with the A/C, motor mounts and back hatch door. Some of the problems were fixed under to warranty. I do not drive the car very much and the warranty ran out because of time, not miles, so I have a car that has 40K miles and the A/C died. Since the warranty had expired, we had to pay a lot of money to have the A/C fixed. We have a 1998 Toyota Camry which has never had any A/C problems. It is actually cold in the Camry during a very hot summer day. I would not buy this car again. How does the A/C just die when the car has 40K miles? It cost us thousands to fix the A/C.

I really like how well the vehicle handles in the snow, and I love how much space it has compared to the car I had before. It has been great for long road trips. I also like that I can take friends and kids easily in this vehicle. The reason that I only think that it's ok is that we've had to have it repaired several times. We've had a lot of issues with the alternator. It was replaced with a factory refurbished one when it gave out, and the repair guy said that the alternator's made for the Traverse aren't that great, but that he would replace it for us. Lo and behold, the next alternator died in four months. We had that one replaced with another factory refurb, and it was dead within three weeks. We've since gotten a brand new alternator put in it and haven't had any more troubles.
Story
I recently strapped a kayak on top of it with bungee cord so my kids could paddle around the neighborhood beach. Everyone was impressed that I was able to do that all by myself, and all the kids loved having the kayak to paddle around the river.
Pros
I like the GPS system, the DVD player, handles well in the snow, roomy, has a luggage rack.
Cons
Alternator has gone bad several times, poor gas mileage

I bought this car after totaling my Mazda CX-9 (which I loved). I went with this vehicle over another CX-9 because this car had a good deal more head and leg room. We travel as a family on a long trip at least once a year, and the kids are only getting bigger. It is nice to be able to take six passengers and cargo in a crossover! This car looks the same size at the CX-9 from the outside, but the leg room and cargo space is much more. Unfortunately, you have to pay a bit more for this extra room. We love the two sunroofs and DVD player. Keeps the kids quiet and happy. The teenagers love that they have their own radio control and temperature control in the backseat. The reason I chose the LTZ trim was for the side detection system (which I loved in the CX-9), unfortunately at 30,000 ... (more)
Story
This car keeps the kids from being too close (and therefore beating on each other!)
Pros
This car appears the same size as other mid-size crossover SUVs, but has MUCH more size inside. The LTZ trim has all the bells and whistles you could possibly ask for: two sunroofs, back-up camera, side detection system, optional XM radio, rear climate control and vents, auto back lift gate and so much more...
Cons
The electronics quality doesn't seem to be up to par with foreign vehicles I've owned in the past (Mazda, Toyota, Honda). Electronic things start to go wrong or are unreliable.
