I really like the body style and think it has the potential to be a great car. We bought it used with quite a few miles, so some of the issues we have had may just be because of general wear and tear. It sometimes doesn't like to turn over in the colder weather days, it takes a little persuasion. The back windows in the 3rd row and the rear window are a little small. There are quite a few huge blind spots that make it hard to see behind you when traveling on the highway. And the seat belts in the 3rd row are hard to get to if you have a booster seat in the back. Multiple times we have had to crawl into the back to help our 6 year old buckle their seat belt because there isn't quite enough space for the booster in the allotted space between the side of the car and the seat belt. It is f... (more)
Story
A recent memory with this vehicle is that I got into the car and started it, and closed the front door and the car automatically locked itself, locking me and my kids out of the car in very cold weather away from home. Luckily my husband was able to come unlock the car for us with his spare key.
Pros
Love the space in the front seat and the drive feels like a car, not a truck. This car also has heated seats so that is a definite positive note when you live in a cold climate area.
Cons
Not enough room in the 3rd row to adequately buckle seat belts if you have to use car seats or boosters in the back. Car doesn't like to start in the cold weather.

After 17 years of driving a "mom van" we finally made the decision to move to an SUV. We wanted something that our family of 5 could still ride comfortably in, but that was a bit smaller and better on fuel economy than the Chevy Uplander van we were currently driving. We looked at a few models of SUV's but kept coming back to the Traverse. We liked how it looked sleek on the outside and not like a van at all. I have driven it for 2 months now, and am still in love. It has room for eight passengers, but when you are driving it feels more like sports car handling. It has good acceleration and braking abilities. I love that I am able to swing into tight parking spots with no effort at all. I don't think that I could ever go back to a van at this point.
Story
We took the vehicle on vacation 700 miles away from our home two weeks after buying it. It drove and rode like a champ the whole way. Most comfy drive ever.
Pros
Good acceleration and braking. I love that it feels like a sporty car, but can haul a ton of stuff around. I like that the back row of seats can lay down completely flat for extra storage space. The handling of the vehicle is great as well. It has power seats, and the seats are some of the most comfortable seats that I have ever had in a car.
Cons
The stereo and sound system is horrible. It needs to have better factory speakers. The visibility in the back is lacking a bit as well. It is hard to see if there is something behind me when I'm backing up. I wish the models with the backup cameras in them were more reasonably priced since they cost at least $5,000 more for the models with that camera. I wish there was dual heat/cool zones in the front area.

This vehicle was a great purchase for our family. It gives us the space and storage capacity for long trips, and the towing package allows us to take extra toys along if we so choose. The captains chairs are wonderful for allowing people to get in and out of the back seat. The gas mileage isn't great but it's good enough given that its a daily commuter vehicle for us. The lack of an entertainment system is a bit of a pain at times. The third row is a bit on the small side but we have been able to fit two normal sized adults in the back. I love the way my car handles, but it can be a bit sluggish to get up to speed.
Story
The ability of being able to take our girls and family members to the beach. The car was packed to the gills, but everyone was still comfortable.
Pros
The best thing about this vehicle are the space it offers. Even for a small family, it allows us enough cargo room for trips. The car handles really well. The captains chairs provide easy access to the third row, without too much climbing. The ability to have a towing package that allows towing of some decent sized toys is a huge plus for us. The remote start and backup sensors are a big win in my book for ease and safety.
Cons
The sounds system is a bit lack luster. No real easy way for entertainment system to be set up in the vehicle. It's a bit sluggish to get up to speed. In the 2WD model, the handling in in-climate weather isn't very good. The third row is a bit on the small side. The gas mileage isn't all the fantastic.
