What I disliked about the vehicle is the acceleration. Especially going up a hill. Its very slow and the engine tends to get loud. When driving you hear lots of clanking noises. I love the paint job of my car. Its a 9 yr old car but the paint still looks brand new.
Story
I LOVE the sun roof. I like to open it up during nice weather
Pros
I love the design of the interior. I love the head room in the car and I like how roomy it feels. I like that I can fit my bike in the back with the seats put down
Cons
The key keeps getting stuck in the ignition. It has had several recalls. It does NOT drive well in snow

I am very happy with the fuel economy of the car, which is even now at about 26 miles per gallon, which is particularly nice given its storage size and its year of manufacturing. The space of the vehicle was a special draw to it; it has the storage of an SUV within the size of a small sedan. In the four years I've owned the vehicle I have not dealt with any electronical malfunctions, nor any major engine malfunctions, and the only work I've needed were minor sensor replacements and typical wear and tear maintenance. Now with a child in tow, I can fit a stroller and my music gear in the trunk space and leave plenty of room for a car seat and diaper bags in the back seat. A spacious middle ground between a cramped car and a gas-sucking SUV. I have 170+ thousand miles on the HHR and ... (more)
Story
My wife and I rented an HHR on our honeymoon, and we came home determined to buy one! The radio stays on even if the key is out of the ignition, until the driver side door opens, which DID scare us the first time!
Pros
The top positives for the Chevrolet HHR are the space for storage, the styling that accommodates such space in a smaller vehicle, the fuel economy given all you can move WITH it, and the reliability - this car has never let me down!
Cons
The HHR is not meant for country terrain, and its speakers are weak. The LS comes with no roof rack, so tying anything down to the roof risks scrapes and scratches TO the roof. Not big enough for moving home repair items (drywall, plywood, etc. ), which is a routine part of my life, for which I have to use a larger vehicle.

I like the look of it. It doesn't look like many other cars out there on the road. The closest thing to it is the PT Cruiser and I think of the two this looks nicer since the lines are less curvy. I like how much space there is when I lay the back seats down. I use it for work and carry a lot of various things around everywhere I go and I can always shift things around to make room for more. The car is very comfortable. I have no complaints about comfort even though it is the economy model. No leather seats and such. I get very good gas mileage. I would say I average about 28-30 miles per gallon. And that is a mix of freeway and in town driving. I don't have any complaints about blind spots or noises. I bought it used about 4 years ago and haven't had to do much service on it. I have h... (more)
Story
When I got into a fender bender I hit into the back of a small pickup truck. the experience shook me up a bit but in retrospect it was somewhat amusing. It put quite a large dent into the back of the pickup but the only noticeable damage to the HHR was a small scratch.
Pros
Gas Mileage. Nice Looking. A lot of space in back when the seats are down. Handles well Good stock stereo
Cons
I don't like where the window controls are located. They are in the middle right in front of the gear shifter The Headlights are a pain to change. The gas cap has become loosened.
