Reliable, affordable
This Chevy Astro Van has been one of the best utility vehicles I have ever owned. I bought it used, but with very little mileage on it. It has bucket seats in front and middle, with bench seat in the back. It has been a very reliable vehicle for me when I was commuting to and from work and now that I am retired, it is a good vehicle to go shopping with or on small strips. I hope to keep this vehicle until it and I die! It has only been in the shop for minor things like oil changes, tire rotation, etc.

Gas hog!
This van was great when we bought it, but it started falling apart really fast. It's great because the back bench lays down into a really comfortable almost full-size bed. We were doing a lot of travelling, and it was terrific for storing all our stuff, but maintenance has gotten really expensive. The weight of the vehicle also means that we spend a lot on gas. I love the velvet seats and the captain's chairs that swivel around. It even has a table with cup holders in the middle front of the vehicle. Now that we are looking at selling it, the age of the van has really worked against us. We paid $3,000, and two years later, we'll be lucky to get $500 for it, and so we're kind of stuck with it for now.

Chevy Van Gets the Job Done
The van was a fleet vehicle at a local university before I bought it, and it has some features due to being an institutional vehicle that are inconvenient. For example, the rear heat and air conditioning controls were disabled, and the back and side door locks were set to be controlled by the driver only. The van had less than 60,000 miles on the odometer when I purchased it, but it had a lot of interior rattles and some of the upholstery was damaged. The tires that it came with were adequate but not new, so they had to be replaced early on. There is a CD player which worked fine at first but now sometimes jams or won't play some CDs. The outside lock on the driver's side front door came loose and fell into the door, so I have to enter vehicle through one of the other doors to unlock the driver's side door. The van is roomy and generally runs well. The doors all work well, not taking into account the lock on the front driver's side door, and I appreciate that as I've had problems with the side doors, especially, on similar vans in the past.
