Chevy Van Gets the Job Done
The van was a fleet vehicle at a local university before I bought it, and it has some features due to being an institutional vehicle that are inconvenient. For example, the rear heat and air conditioning controls were disabled, and the back and side door locks were set to be controlled by the driver only. The van had less than 60,000 miles on the odometer when I purchased it, but it had a lot of interior rattles and some of the upholstery was damaged. The tires that it came with were adequate but not new, so they had to be replaced early on. There is a CD player which worked fine at first but now sometimes jams or won't play some CDs. The outside lock on the driver's side front door came loose and fell into the door, so I have to enter vehicle through one of the other doors to unlock the driver's side door. The van is roomy and generally runs well. The doors all work well, not taking into account the lock on the front driver's side door, and I appreciate that as I've had problems with the side doors, especially, on similar vans in the past.

Chevy StarCraft conversion van converted for disability needs
I purchased this van used so that I could have it converted into a handicap accessible van. I had need for automated side doors and automated wheelchair lift, a lockdown device for the wheelchair inside, a special driver's seat chair so that I could transfer from my wheelchair to the driver seat in order to drive, and pedal extenders so that I could reach the brakes and the gas. Once said and done along with some regular maintenance and new tires I had about $15,000 invested in the van used, whereas it would've cost me close to $70,000 had I gotten the van equipped with the equipment I have in it new.

Great Work Horse
I would have to say that this vehicle is an amazing find. I could say so much and go on and on about this van. First off I managed to find someone selling it for only $500+ TTL. Do not let that trick you, as I thought for sure something was going to be mechanically wrong with the vehicle. Alas I have yet to have any mechanical issues aside from the normal fluids and battery and lights. The vehicle is a little bit of a gas hog, but on the flip side of it, this van is big enough that if you need somewhere to live, it can be your home. I have found this van to be a very strong power house and it also does not complain at all when you ask something of it. I have been able to haul a two bedroom apartment worth of things in it in just 2 trips. It is also not overly big, so it takes just a small bit more room to park than your everyday car. Further, this van has yet to leave me stranded anywhere, as it does run awesome, but alas it is a pre-fuel injection, so sometimes it will take it a moment or two to start in the cold. All is takes to get it started and running is to pump the gas peddle about 3-4 times before you turn the key. Once you do that and with continuing to pump the gas peddle it will allow the car to start really quickly.
