It is best the best.
The Venture and its siblings were powered by GM's 3.4 L LA1 V6, rated at 180 hp (134 kW). After 1999, the engine was slightly redesigned to produce an extra 5 hp (4 kW), for a total of 185 hp (138 kW), and the alarm system for seatbelts, door ajar, low fuel, etc., have been changed. All Ventures used a four-speed automatic transmission. The Venture was one of the few minivans to have an eight-passenger seating configuration as an option when most minivans seated up to seven passengers.

Nice family vehicle
I like the fact that this van has large driver/passenger seats. Both front seats are extremely comfortable. There is ample room throughout the vehicle to fit many passengers. I do not particularly like that a car seat can only be placed on the outside seat in the middle row. The middle of the seat is the safest place for a child and a built in car seat prevents us from installing our car seat in the safer spot on that row. It does have a built-in car seat but I don't feel like it's the safest place to have a child. It's nice for a short distance if you have an unexpected passenger but otherwise seems unsafe. The car rides smoothly. Gas mileage is great.

Reliable, basic minivan.
We bought this for a family car that had enough room for four growing kids. It has gotten us through to the ten years with little issues. We've had some repairs on it, but nothing that made me regret the decision to get it. It's not fancy or unique, but it gets the job done, and that's all I ever wanted.
