2006 Chevrolet Colorado - Best Truck Ever Built
The truck is fantastic. It is almost over ten years old and the a/c works perfectly. The gas mileage is really good. I was in an accident once and it barely made a scratch or dent in the truck. I really love the fact that I can move large items like benches, tables, armoires, etc... In the back. The paint has lasted all these years next to the ocean and the truck still runs like new although it only has 100,000k miles on it, it should still work great, it cost almost 23k.
Story
Going to the beach in Daytona and driving on the beach with Monty, that's the trucks name
Pros
The ice cold ac, the reliability, the fact that it's an American made vehicle.
Cons
My radio broke, the antennae broke off/
2006 Chevrolet Colorado - Unending Pain
This truck has been nothing but a pain. It's less than 10 years old, less than 100,000 miles and starting to fall apart.
Story
No fun memories
Pros
A to B vehicle
Cons
Rear driver break light malfunctions because of bad wiring.
Bed is too small
Uncomfortable seating especially the "extra seats"
Bad gas mileage
2005 Chevrolet Colorado -
The truck was bought used and the circumstances were that I had to purchase it rather quickly. So despite all the research I did I went for the Colorado because it was available, within my price range, and ran decently for 160,000 miles. The biggest problems that most Colorados, including mine, seem to have has to do with the electrical components. The A/C only works if on full blast, the blinkers/lights wear out quickly, and there is an issue with the exhaust that makes the engine idle in weird spurts.
Story
This is the ultimate outdoors truck for us, we have gone to a lot of great destinations hauling gear we wouldn't have been able to take in our previous hatchback car.
Pros
The best features include power and comfort. The engine that we have is a 3.5L 5 cylinder which adds some kick to a small sized truck. The extended cab really helps give us space to work with, room for our dog, and the bucket seats make our truck pretty comfortable compared to others with bench seats.
Cons
The problems with electronics seem to be the biggest con. One thing started to fail after another in quick succession. First lights, then A/C, the CD player gave up really quickly, and our most recent failure includes the passenger side window. The gas mileage is decent, but it doesn't go nearly as far as an S-10 or small Ford Ranger would with a 4 cylinder.
