The Uplander LS (made in 2007) is one of the most family friendly cars on the road today. What made this car particularly eye catching was the vast amount of space between the two middle seats to reach the back. When we test drove our Uplander, those who weren't test driving sat in a family member's van and the stark difference of space was completely obvious. There is more than enough storage space in the back. I was even able to fit a large child's size desk, three children with car seats/boosters and other bags of garage sale items home in one trip. The exterior is pleasing to the eye because it doesn't look like your typical dolphin nosed van, rather the drastic slanted look that vans tend to possess. It is as if a van and SUV had a child and that child was the Uplander. As far as... (more)
Story
It can fit many people and drive distances to "save" people stuck on the road. I had the opportunity to drive a couple hours to "rescue" family members because their car decided to take an unscheduled vacation at a car repair shop.
Pros
The primary bonus of this make/model/year vehicle is the space. I emphasize the year because we have family and friends that do not have the 2007 model and their Uplanders have a surprising lack of space. The front drivers and passenger seats are very comfortable and there is ample leg room. The Uplander also starts up no problem in Minnesota/below zero weather after being outside and not in a garage!
Cons
The top negatives with this vehicle is the amount of repair we have had to deal with, although to be fair, we can't say whether it is because of the particular car or because we bought it second-hand at a dealership. It is possible the previous owners were not so gentle with the vehicle.

2007 Chevrolet Uplander - I greatly enjoy driving this car and would buy it again!

I purchased this van at 180,000 miles and it is still going strong. I've been driving it for two-years and have only needed regular maintenance (oil change, tires, brakes). This van had several automated features (automatic doors, windows, power locks, inter-changeable dashboard display) that I have not had with any previous car. It is a great family-vehicle.
Story
Our first long trip in the vehicle was to Mount Rainier, which takes 3.5 Hours. There were six of us in the van, and the passengers in the middle and rear of the van were able to enjoy watching a dvd while in transit.
Pros
This van comfortable holds up to seven passengers, which is exactly what I need with a family of six. There is enough storage space behind the couch to hold camping supplies for the entire family. The vehicle is fully-loaded with a did player for the children so help comfort long car-rides. The seats are adjustable enough to handle myself, at 5'1" and my husband who is 6'5". I love how the side doors are automated and don't swing-out, making it easier to fit into tight parking spaces.
Cons
In previous vehicles, I've had the seat warming feature, unfortunately, I don't have this with my Uplander. I also wish the window in the middle row were able to open and close, for more air circulation. Lastly, living in Seattle, we have several large hills. When I am stopped in an "up-hill" position and need to press on the gas, the van rolls back pretty far before it moves forward, so I am afraid of hitting the person behind me.

I love my Chevrolet Uplander minivan. I've had it for eights years now, and it's never given me any issues. I never wanted to buy a minivan but with kids, it was necessary. I looked a few different minivans and eventually settled on the Chevrolet Uplander minivan. We've owned other Chevrolet brand cars, so we trusted that manufacturer over its competitors. My particular van does not have all the upgrades and is pretty basic as we were on a budget when looking for this van. We had bought it used with low miles.
Story
We've taken our van on many family vacations, including a long trip to Disney World. My kids have even named her Lani. It is a treasured family car.
Pros
The best part about this vehicle is all the room. You can comfortably fit seven people in this van without any issue. We've done it many times (even with car seats). There's even enough space in the back behind the third row of seats for things like your groceries or strollers or luggage. Also, there are compartments in the back side "walls" of the van. I also like all the cup holders. Everyone has a spot to put drinks. My husband loves how zippy our van is. It is not sluggish to get moving at all.
Cons
The only negative thing with my van is that the tires tend to spin out (on hills or rainy weather). Even if I just tap the gas to get started, it will spin out.
