The Chevrolet Uplander is a terrific minivan with a Sports-Utility-Vehicle feel that never should have been discontinued. It gives you the command-view of the road that you're used to in a minivan, with the sleek feel of a newer SUV. The ride is as smooth as glass.
Story
I've got mine cleared out with the minimum 2 front and one middle seat so that most of the cargo space is clear. I will never forget taking it to a furniture store one day, where the salesman insisted that I would have to pay to have my purchases shipped to my house. I assured him repeatedly that we could get it all in the car. I finally had to bump him out of the way and let him watch whil... (more)
Pros
This vehicle has an incredible amount of cargo space. With just one middle row seat, I moved a queen-size mattress and bed frame, dresser, and chest of drawers in one trip. In another trip I moved an entire dining set, chairs and all. It isn't just the overall floor space, but the floor to ceiling space as well which gives you the benefit of having a pickup truck, without the crummy ride. Plus, the stereo system is AMAZING. The sound quality is like something out of a dream. And the seats are so comfortable that you'll ditch your tent and camp inside the vehicle!
Cons
There are really only a couple of downsides to the Chevy Uplander - #1) The cupholders are too small. Cupholders today need to be sized to fit the larger reusable water bottles everyone is carrying. This is a pretty minor downside. #2) One feature I absolutely HATE and would like to disable is that it automatically unlocks ALL of the doors whenever you turn off the engine. This was a STUPID idea. What if you have to stop your car in the middle of a bad neighborhood? That tell-tale sound of the doors automatically unlocking, and then in a panic re-locking, is sure to draw just the k... (more)

I have three children and needed to upgrade from my full-size sedan. I went to look at this Chevy Uplander (even though I never wanted a van). I feel in love instantly. It gave me all the room I needed to comfortable transport my family, yet it did not drive like a typical van. It actually drives more like a small SUV. The message board right on the dash is so helpful. It informs me if my one of my tires is low on air, if a door is open, if someone isn't buckled and so much more. This gets rid of trying to troubleshoot what is wrong with the car. The interior is more like a sports car and is sleek and stylish. Although it is a 2008, you can still do all the small servicing yourself. The only complaints I have are the extremely touchy breaks and the lack of space in the very back (for g... (more)
Story
I took my kids to our local drive-in movie theater (Indiana) in this van. We laid the seats down and threw blankets and pillows in the back and laid there watching the movie. We laughed until we cried and had a good time just hanging out. Although my kids are still young, I know they will always remember that.
Pros
Message board, not too big, low maintenance, leg room, smooth ride, and luxury without the high price. My favorite thing about this vehicle is the message board. It is so much easier to be able to tell my husband exactly what is wrong instead of trying to recreate sounds or vibrations and hoping he can figure it out.
Cons
There is not much storage space in this van. The computer is also a big part of the van. I have not had to have any work done with the computer, but I did look up prices out of curiosity, and they are very high. Also, there is no center console. So not much storage space up front either.
