This is not a good vehicle to drive if you want a reliable truck that can withstand tough weather such as snow or want to pull a trailer or anything for that matter. This truck will most likely have multiple engine issues as well, because the entire series was not just a lemon but a basket full of lemons. If you decide to buy something like this, I feel sorry for you, and I hope you have a lot of cash handy and a great auto mechanic readily available to call any time of year at any time. You will most likely need a vomit bag and a box of tissues to dry away your tears from puking and crying so much because you wasted away so much of your hard earned money on such a garbage, pathetic excuse for a vehicle. Highly, I repeat highly, do not recommend this truck, and I wouldn't even give it ... (more)
Pros
It starts most of the time when the battery is charged, and it does travel up to 75 mph without the wheels falling off, so that's a plus.
Cons
The cons have been covered pretty heavily in the review section up above, but it's got engine issues, exhaust issues, its had bad rear cylinder issues, problems with the serpentine belt, emergency break, electronic window mechanism, a bad oxygen sensor the day I bought it, broken thermostat, and warm air conditioning. It has no rear-wheel drive option, which is great in the winter, and the brakes tend to go more often than they should. The door to the bed's handle mechanism fell apart for almost no reason whatsoever, and it needed two serpentine belts in four years. It cannot pass inspecti... (more)

My 2005 Chevrolet Colorado has almost 600,000 miles on it. In terms of longevity, it has been a decent vehicle. The cabin (crew cab, four door) is reasonably comfortable for the size of the vehicle, and it uses less fuel and takes up less space than a typical full sized crew cab pickup. The bed is short, but I am still able to use it to transport large items. The body style is very good. Unfortunately, a number of serious maintenance issues have plagued the vehicle.
Story
The four-wheel drive on this vehicle works well on snow and ice. Just remember: four-wheel drive helps you go, but it does not help you stop.
Pros
Body style—it is smaller than a typical full-size crew cab pickup, but there is still ample space for passengers in the cab. Longevity—my vehicle has almost 600,000 miles and is still running, albeit with problems.
Cons
Electrical system: there have been numerous electrical system failures. The radio no longer works, and our mechanic has said that it is really not worth replacing. Tail lights and brake lights have had to be replaced more than once because of shorts. I have to have the brake lights fixed at every yearly inspection now. The air conditioner blower has failed on more than one occasion, due to issues with resistors or wiring. There are more issues besides these, but the bottom line is that the electrical system in this vehicle is bad. Passlock system: GM installs a system in their vehicl... (more)
